Sorry to post this, there must have been hundreds of threads on this. Ive done a search but not found anything definate.
As I understand I need to send; the sales invoice (a copy or original?), a copy of my V5, a copy of the VIN number on the back of my service book and a utility bill...
I know, but Pembrey is over £100 cheaper, which at the moment I could do with. As at 6700miles my tyres are pretty shot and my brake pedal feels very spongy. A trackday would finish the tyres and brakes off, so I can put that £100 to good use.

Me perfect? - Absolutely ;)
"You dont buy a performance car to drive it slow."
I completely agree, but there is a difference between having a spirited drive in the country and racing in a built up area with other car and pedestrians about.
If you are going to drive fast make sure its only...

"thinking about it it was actually pretty stupid"
You reckon?
"i hate to think what would have happened if someone was crossing the road"
You would of killed them, be it an old women, children, or an entire family.
You say the Rover race is nothing to boast about (sounds like he wasnt...

Sounds good, but there could be some insurance problems with it being a timed event.
Also youre more likely to stuff it, if you are racing against the clock.

"Oh, and just noticed that the cup already has the mounting points for the rollcage fitted in its construction - its quite cool actually - little flaps in the trim and panels which open to reveal the mounting points!!! "
So do 172s.

I dont like how when your headlights switch is set to off and your headlights are on (i.e in auto mode) when you flash someone you have to pull the lever quickly twice, once to put the full beam on and once to turn it off. Though when the headlight switch is set to on, you can flash by pulling...

I dont think were seeing eye to eye on what torque steer is.
To me (and everyone else I hope) torque steer is when the car pulls to the left/right under hard acceleration when going in a straight line, this is due to unequal length drive shafts.
To me what you are describing is just...
Mk2 172s dont suffer badly from torque steer so I reckon theres something wrong with yours.
Find a really flat smooth road and boot it from low speed it shouldnt torque steer.

Are there any exhausts avaliable that remain hidden behind the bumper like the standard one? Im really not keen on exhausts sticking out under the bumper when there is no cut-out.
Stu.
Mk2 172s hardly torque steer at all, what you are referring is tramlining i.e. the wheels are following the ruts and contours of the road. This can be quite pronounced on really rough roads under hard acceleration but its not a major problem.
I, like you had a 106 (mk2 Rallye) before my Clio...
