My Brother went from a V6 Vectra to a 172 and then a new 182, 7 months later he got another new 182, says it all really.
Vectra was heavy, expensive to run and understeered badly, the complete opposite of the Clio.
Have you followed the advice on the HPI report to wait a few days while they find out if an Insurance company owns this car?, the previous owner did not keep it long after the theft, just over 2 months, however the current owner has owned the car since Jan 2007 which is usually a good sign.
Please don't put adblue in your diesel tank as it is not a fuel additive, adblue is stored in a seperate smaller tank on an HGV, the adblue solution is sprayed into the exiting exhaust gasses to neutralise the harmful NoX's.
RAC car data checks are £25 for 5 checks, which is pretty good value, i HPI'd an 11,000 mile diesel corsa on a 56 plate that was being sold privately for around £4,200, something sounded too good to be true as this car was far cheaper than much older diesel corsa's, it turns out there was still...
I am pretty sure there is an inhibitor built into the engine ecu that limits revs when the engine is cold to stop you revving the s**t out of it, when i first start my 182 up and drive off, it feels like i have left the handbrake on a little, which is the holding back you describe, 10-15 secs...
If the clip is intact and not broken, then they are usually a nice tight fit, if the clip is broken, which it is quite easy to break, then no cover will secure properly and you will need a new lower half of the fuse box as the clip is part of that assy, the new part is not that expensive, i...
ESP and SERV light coming on randomly will most likely be the brake light switch needs adjusting, check your brake fluid level first if any other warning lights are coming on when going round a corner too fast.
The ABS, TC and SERV light coming on intermittently could just be that the brake light switch needs adjusting, also the cruise control will not work, it is/used to be a common fault on 182's, it will take a couple of mins to adjust it, i would try that before shelling out any cash.
Ignition on/off twice then getting out and locking using the fob just disables the interior sensors, if you want to lock the car without arming the alarm this is what you do - sit in the passenger seat, press the lock button on the dash, open the passenger door and get out(drivers door and...

Don't take this the wrong way, but i doubt you will get £8k - £8.5k for your 182 cup, i know of an 05 182 FF with only 13k on the clock that sold for £8k the other week, my 182 FF is up for £8k and it is on a 55 plate and only done 12,700 miles, so far not much interest.
I paid £106.89 for my first 12k service, that price includes the fully synthetic oil i supplied, but did not include pollen filter or air filter.
If you take the £25 for an MOT off, then £125 for a service if it includes the oil filter, decent synthetic oil, pollen filter and engine air...
I would not bother with a diesel the way the price of diesel fuel is going, how about a C1/107/Aygo - 60 +mpg and £35 a year tax or Toyota Yaris - 50 + mpg and £120 tax now, then going down to £95 from 2010.

Is it a Black Gold you are specifically looking for, because i have a Titanium 182 up for sale at the moment, it is a 55 plate and has only done around 12,600 miles, it also has Turinis fitted and it is up for £8,300.
I just checked the valuation for mine as i am about to put it up for sale and it came out at £9165, can't see me getting that price - lol.

Yeah i don't think it was a driving instructors car, it had just normal red L plates on it, but the driver did look a bit smug though.
Thinking about it, it could actually have been an R27, i'm sure i saw a F1 style sticker on the front o/s corner of the bumper.
The C2 VTS could have been an awesome little car with a lot less weight, a bit more power, better suspension and brakes, i hated the sensodrive gearbox in my VTR though.
As said the holding back when cold is most likely going to be the inbuilt inhibitor in the ecu to limit the revs when cold, it should only do it for a minute or so, if you let your engine warm up for a few mins before setting off, it probably won't do it.
The oil leak is most likely from the...
Citroen have dropped the 1.6HDI 110hp diesel engine into the C2 VTS, making it only 38kg heavier than the petrol engined version which weighs 1084kg, also the diesel makes 80% more torque, is only just over a second slower to 62 and returns 64mpg, 24mpg more than the petrol.
What the hell...
