not sure if the 1.9 engine fits as its something i looked into before my conversion.. also the sport conversion is cheaper than the meggy derv setup.. and there hardly common.. as far as i know mine is the only van with the 1*2 engine in
agree'd 90% of the time i have lacquered the car/item myself so know exactly howmuch i have to work with.. but generally orange peel is from an excess of lacquer ( as you know obv).. dry ( rough) spots on the other hand are a diff story
no offense meant but i thought wet flatting was always considered a pretty basic job.. you have the dimples/ orange peel to use as a guide to see how far you are going etc.
use a squeegee to wipe the area's clean rather than microfibre/ rags.. alot more effective and faster. easier to keep...
anyone can port a head.
but whether they can do it properly and an even job across all ports is another story. If it was easy to then tuners wouldnt spend thousands on cnc machines and flow benches.. even then there is still a good few hours work involved.
IMO clear any casting imperfections...
takes ages to prep and uses a fair whack of paint.
Im sure some one on here paid 600ish for a full interior job on thers. Which may sound expensive but it probably takes the same amount of time to fully prep the exterior. I would paint the full inside though, wont look right with it half...
many new panels come with small dents in them from transportation/storage.. its not always convenient to send it back and await a new part, especially when you have a customer that needs his car back and you have a deadline to meet.
Also when fitting new quarters and other such fixed panels...
if you lacquer satin black it will make it gloss black. just ensure you have plenty of base coat on there and you should be fine.
The paint will only peel/flake due to poor prep not through having no lacquer
a before picture may be better so we can asses whether it had any new panels such as a new quarter etc.
*check all gaps
boot-quarter, quarter-door, door-wing then wing-bonnet
*check colour match ( imperfections show up best under un-natural lighting.. i.e under a streetlamp as best as it will...
im sure a few member on here could do it for a smaller fee. many have done conversions now ( me included) but its time consuming as everything needs stripping back.
sure the moisture isnt unburnt fuel from being turned over ?
whip the head of and do a leak/ pressure test then if all is well just install a new headgasket
U MAD BRO ?
thought you would be like FFUUUAAAARKK FEEL THE POWER BRO !!
On a serious note.. this is N/A tuning.. dont always stare at the peak figures, its the torque you want to go up. you only get that high bhp figure in the last 1k revs or so.. your torque peaks earlier.. so unless you...
