Old thread... but it was more than likely me! :) 53 reg standard 172.
I live one side of the motorway and work the other. Around 3pm would be me returning home from work along the A610 which crosses J26. I always wave or beep at other ClioSports!
Thanks for that post. :) Mine has been making that noise and was going to get it looked at soon. At least I can give the garage an idea of where to start.
I'd like to know the answer to this question too.
My 172 started making a horrifically loud screeching / whirring noise when the aircon was turned on. I've had the car for the last 58000 of its 87000 miles and have never had it re-gassed or anything. So probably the same thing!
Apparently not - according to Renault.
Mine is exactly the same: Run solely on V-power for months / Starts first time / Revs drop when started in the morning / Quick blip and it's fine until it is stood for a while again.
It has done it this for ages - since using only V-power I reckon...
I thought the TDC sensor would be a start / not start issue. Mine went a few weeks ago and there was no sign of it happening. It either started or it didn't - no in between.
The modified connector is a different plug (the blue plug) that needs replacing as the connector on the actual sensor...
Saw an metallic orange (don't know the proper name) Clio 182 in Giltbrook, near Ikea, on Saturday morning (26th July). Private reg plate was something like P xxx PAV.
Don't think I have seen that colour car on the road before, but it looked superb :)
Then I saw another 182 in the same...
WAs with them for 2 years and every single time I had to contact them was a disaster. Orange, on the other hand, have been brilliant for over 10 years that I have been with them - but I know some is going to say the opposite! :)
O2 also did a similar thing with me a few years back. I refused to pay and it went on for about 3 months with many phone calls until I spoke to someone that understood the situation and finally sorted it out.
They also ripped me off because the number that they 'kept open' for me originally had...
N96 is still too thick at 18mm to be considered a mobile phone IMO (N95 was 22mm or 23mm!)
Besides, it's not really like the iPhone as it has no big touch screen. Maybe LG will update the Viewty to make it a tad faster and be more application friendly - although it was never meant to be a...
Saw you yesterday (Friday 18th) in the Tesco garage on Nottingham Road... then again driving through the town a bit later.
Car looked superb, so sorry for drooling as I walked across the forecourt. :)
I remember that... the thing I got told is that the VTS had different management and the interior of the GTi made it slightly heavier.
However... virtually every Saxo you see has 'ripples' down the bodywork - whereas the Pugs don't.
whaaaaaa? I have never felt the 172 oversteer round a bend like that - maybe I have never lifted! :p The Williams on the other hand.... ;)
...and I would reckon a Clio would keep up with a standard UK spec Scooby 'on the roads'. IME, they are not as quick as their reputation would have you...
Bizarre. This is what has recently been happening to my Clio - and I would have described it exactly the same as you did. I know the N/S front shock is leaking but wasn't 100% sure that it was the cause of my problem. Now I know... thanks for saving me the trouble! :)
Just got to decide on...
