Try putting the ISP's DNS server IP address in the router config or even in the network config on windows.

Is the 182 resistor pack the same as the 172 one? If so, I have a spare unit that came out of a 70k 53 reg 172. I too had a problem with the AC so I replaced the resistor pack, but it turns out it was a different fault.

Just like to add that I can't stand BT either - I have to put up with their terrible service at work. 99.99% uptime my arse.

A lot of it is down to Shell V-power, I reckon. That 36.1mpg has been done over 3-4 months exclusively with V-Power and with little motorway driving - although I do take it steady in 30/40mph limits. I used to get around 32-33mpg with Esso / BP 97RON. Never used 95RON in it, so that would...

I am pretty sure there is a really low fair-usage limit disclaimer on there somewhere :) As for Virgin, you get the base TV package free with a land-line, so just pretend it's the other way round :p

I am not sure if LG can still be considered shite. A few people I know have recently chosen LG TVs and have nothing but good things to say about them. Maybe they are just happy because they were better than they expected! :)

V-power is superb. :) Tesco 99 is also good, but I found it to be a bit inconsistent. PLus V-power never gives me less that 36mpg.

Yeah - I think you are right actually. The dude at Renault (who was surprising helpful!) said a similar thing. Worth a gamble for £25 I reckon. :)

Thanks again for the exrta info - although the RAC man was certain it was the cam sensor and not the crank sensor. Went into Renault to get the part and it turns out the 172 doesn't not have a camshaft sensor. Since it has VVT, it has a different sensor instead and the bloke I spoke to at...

My 172 has just clocked 75k and, although one of the rear dampers is leaking a little, it has never let go of the rear end. I wonder if it could be a tyre issue?

Had the same problem with mine a while back. Thought it was the resistor pack (a common fault apparently) but it turned out to be something to do with the connection between the motor and the flap that mixes the hot and cold air coming into the cabin. Will see if I can find the thread with it...

Hated it on my 106Gti but don't mind it on the 172. Still prefer the non-ABS of the Williams though...

I haven't reset my clock in months and in that time I have done one or two motorway runs, commuted into work, been stuck in a queue for an hour, had the air-con on and given it a load of thrash down the A606... ...and I am currently on 36.2mpg - that's exclusively with Shell V-Power.

I wasn't expecting any problems either, although I did wonder if 40 series tyres would have been better. The sidewall on the 45s looks a bit too chunky...

Couple of weeks on and everything is fine. Looking forward to getting some 205's on the front now... ;)
