Im sure the BB conversion is about the same as I have spent. I did drive the old girl on Sunday. The over revving on tick over was due to a faulty solenoid on the inlet manifold. I was stuck wide open. It drove lovely, all of the hydrolic lifter noises have gone. I am so please with it. A really...
It would be like Ben R asking somebody else to port his own head for him. I have the know how to do it myself, so I couldnt bring myself to pay anyone else to do it. At least I can spend the money I would have paid BB all on parts. See below;
The internals consist of JE forged Low comp...
I havent done any thing with the management yet, I need to run the engine in on standard injectors and ecu. I will probably use amn Emeralled ECU or maybe even Cossie management, But that invloves a TDC sensor on the Crank pulley to be fabricated. The map sensor is still a 1 bar map sensor...
I wanted one on my 1.8 16v turbo engine, but I was told that it wouldnt be any good because my engine was past the variables of the Dastek limits. So I have now been looking at Emeralled ECUs, Omega, and even Cossie management with a Armed Bajou chip(Spelling!!)
What do you recon.
No, I had a think about it last night. I have decided that it is the boost guage hose on the inlet manifold that is not connected.
I have spent £6,500 on parts, roughly,
It is a 1.8 16v F7P
Its actually been off of the road now for 18 months! but most of that was due to body shops letting me down. Cant wait to drive it. I am pleased it all sounds good though. Hydrolic lifters making a bit of a noise, but that will stop once the oil gets round. I gave up late last nite, to cold and...
My engine is all in now, started that bad boy up yesterday. Ticking over well fast but sounds sweet. I should start coming on some of these meets very very soon!
I have tried to change the Orange film to blue on my MK1. Now I dont have a fuel guage! Cant do it mate. Bright blue LEDs in the top of the dash board and turn the dash lights down
Yer mate, I have just finished mine, Will be putting it back in the car at the weekend. You need to get the Haynes manual on it to get all the correct torque settings. Get the crank knife edged while you are at it. Get who ever grinds your crank to supply the new oversized shells to go wth it.
You need a very large Hex Key and an adjustable spanner. Probably need to go throught the front inner wing if the engine is in. You will see a pulley just below the powersteering pump. Loosen the hex bolt in the middle of the pulley about half a turn. You will the be able to move the outer but...
Yer no worries mate, I am in Chelmsford in Essex. The engine is out at the moment. Should be back in within a couple of weeks, but you a re welcome to check it out
I got Prism motorsport to do all the pipe work, i.e intercooler, exhaust and alloy pipework etc. I have got a T25 hybrid, I did all of the internals myself, forged piston, lightened and balanced crank, flywheel, knifeedged crank, billet steel H section rods, Forged low comp pistons, ported and...
I need an exhasut for mat 1.8 16v. From the de cat back.
What is the difference between the K3 K5 K8 or what ever they are, any pics
Please help, I need it quick my car comes back to me soon
I get my car back from the spray shop very very soon. I need to drop my engine back in (If only it was that simple!!) I have no exhaust system from the cat back, (Although it doesnt have a cat)
Whats the deal with the K tec exhausts? K3 K5 K8 etc. Are they cat back or what? Any problems, ie...
My mate Jim has got two 8 inch slash cut pipes on his CLio 16v. It was on Top gear the other week for the worst system in the UK. Ascar up north done it for him. He wants 2 more. I think he is on CRACK!
Yer, If you have had the new valve cuts made in the top of the pistons, then you should notice that the two inlet valve cuts are bigger than the two exhaust, if done properly. The Larger cuts go towards the front of the engine for the inlet valves to hover over!
Yep all you need to do is get a match stick, put it down the drivers side runner, at the front. Then close the sunroof tight. This will stop the rattling and also stop any leaking.
Done it on my mate RSI. Worked a treat
Yer, I agree, they can look a bit small in the long term. As I said before, switch em round, and flip them upside down. Then they are massive. My mates was in Max power in June or July issue this year. Yellow one it was.
It was proper bow I tell thee
My mate has got some RSI skirts on his, he swaped them from on side to the other, then turned them upside down and had them smoothed in by Blade Street mods. They look phat!
I have got Peugeot 206 Carcept or Carzone on mine. They look wicked too.
It is a git to get the sump off of a 16v. I had the whole engine out and done the works on my engine in the end. It could be a write off as far as the engine is concerned. If you have scored your crank you will have to have the whole thing reground and then you are talking big money for a garge...
