As the title says does anyone know the part number for a standard alloy wheel for a 2003 172 Cup.
The guy at the parts department at Renault in Reading said that he could not find the wheel on the system and needed a part number. He even tried to order me a Mk2 172 wheel and seemed unaware of...
Whilst I was renewing my home insurance with Norwich Union they offered me a quote on my 172 Cup as the renewal date is late November. Apparently they are doing a special offer of 14 months cover for the price of 12 months if you already have home insurance with them.
After putting all my...
I bought my 172 Cup in June 2004 pre-registered from a main dealer with 11 miles on the clock.
I have now done a little under 4k miles and have had no problems with the car whatsover. There is one small rattle from the interior light area but that is a tiny niggle and not worth fussing over...
Does anyone know of any reputable places in the Berkshire area that could refurb one of my 172 Cup alloys that is slightly scuffed? Done a search but cant seem to find any related posts.

I thought that one size would fit all but it got me confused when there were two sizes at Halfords today. I reckon the small one should be ok though.

I plan to get one of those big metal Disclock jobbies that completely cover the steering wheel. What I want to know is they come in two different sizes either small or large. The small one covers steering wheels of a diameter between 35cm-39cm. Does anyone know if this one will suffice for my...
I currently have a 172 Cup but in a few years time I would like to consider a MK1 V6. What Im interested in is when do you think the prices for these cars will bottom out? What do people think the prices will settle at for a car with usual mileage?
From looking at Auto Trader at the moment...
The meguiars hand mitt is good for removing bugs as it also has a sort of soft netting on one side for the sole aim of removing bugs! These are a bit pricey though at about £12.

I know this is tempting fate big time but I have had my 172 Cup for 3 months now and have had absolutely no problems with it at all. Granted the car has only done 2500 miles in total but it has been totally reliable with no niggly faults like you often hear on the forum.
I appreciate that a...
I know that a few Renault dealers have drive in places that do things like oil changes, batteries and tyres etc while you wait.
Renault London West have such a place but I was wondering if there are any a little closer to Reading, Berkshire that could do it for me?

I know that the service interval for a 172 Cup is at 12k miles but I think that is a little too long to go without changing the oil.
Would it be worth giving it a full service at 6k miles? Im thinking its probably a good idea to simply change the oil and leave the service till 12k. Does...
I recently foolishly scuffed one of my alloys on my otherwise spotless Cup. I know there are places that can repair scuffs on alloy wheels but I was thinking it may be easier simply to buy a new wheel direct from Renault and keep the slightly scuffed one as a spare for future.
What are peoples...
I dont rate the 306gti6.com forum much as in my opinion there is little moderation and a lot of the threads just end up with countless numbers of posts most of which just contain extravagant smileys!

I have contacted someone from Wicked Wheels and they are going to come and take a look.
How easy is it to repair minor scuffs and is the wheel likely to look as good as new after?
Tim
I managed to scuff one of my alloys on my Cup today. It was through sheer stupidity and totally my fault! The scuff is not too bad and Im sure it can be repaired.
Does anyone know any places close to Reading that could repair it for me to a high standard? Can wheels be repaired while you wait...
It was the first time I opened the bonnet today and the stupid thing breaks already
Does it need to be taken to Renault then for them to look at?
Tim
After checking the oil today on my new Cup I activated the alarm as per normal and after a few seconds I get a constant buzzing noise. I have made sure all the doors, boot and bonnet are shut but the bloody thing still goes off! Is this a fault with the alarm or is there something obvious Im not...
Had my pre-registered Cup now for about a week and all appears well with it apart from a few minor niggles.
1) Small rattle from near the instrument binnacle. Its not too bad and I assume its cos its a Renault!
2) The sticky stuff on the Cup 172 badge on the drivers side was coming off after...
What is the definitive procedure for running a Cup engine in then cos there seems to be so many conflicting views. I understand the manual says stay under 3500rpm/80mph for 625 miles.
What is the correct running in procedure after that? Is it simply to gradually increase the revs as the...
