Some of those policies which offer accelerated NCBs are not recognised by other insurers.
So you may not be able to transfere it to another insurer if they bump up the price the following year.
There was a mobile unit in my village at lunchtime, but i took my B2 unit out last night in preperation for trading the car in on Thursday.
I could have driven past them a few times and tested the positioning of the laser detector if i had left it in
I go for a weekly update. leave it any longer than two weeks and it bugs you to update when you powerup.
I have my laser detector hidden behind the rear view mirror, with the cable running around the roof trim. i thought it looked out the way there.
My theory, and im no scientist, is that...
I used Velcro strips too. The sticky pad which came with my B2 didnt stick, so i got some Velcro.
The sat lock took about five mins the very first time i switched the unit on, but now it only takes about 30 seconds in the morning.
If anyone is planning on buying a private reg, first check the DVLA site.
The price the DVLA shows includes VAT and the £80 transfere fee. Many of the other sites charge this on top of the cost of the number plate.
My mk1 172 is being traded in after 3months of ownership.
Im trading it in this week for a mk2 172. The mk1 has been towed into the garage 5 times in 3 months with immobiliser faults. Ive just got fed up with the lottery of "will the car start or wont it" each time i go to drive it.
I love...
Does anyone know if the clock in the B2 self adjusts in anyway?
When i first installed mine, it showed the correct time, so i was wondering does it receive a time signal from the sats as well as its position?
Ive never found elephant competetative.
Guess im not their target demographic as they have never given me cheap quote, despite hearing lots of positive stories about them.
I like the pictures ive seen so far.
I like the wheels, probably cos i hate the wheels on my 172. I like the ass, especially the twin pipes at the back.
I like those 182 alloys.
I really hate the alloys on my mk1 172. They have too many spokes and are a nightmare to clean and look far too cluttered on a small car.
rocko, is it difficult to hard wire the unit?
I have mine powered by the ciggy lighter, and although it tidy, it could look better.
Whats involved with hard wiring the unit?
I have the B2 too, and have no complaints about the unit.
The only problem i had, was although my laptop is a new machine, it does not have a COM port to update the B2s database. I had to buy the additional modem for £50.
I had to put my GPS reciever on the back parcel shelf for the best...
Does the MK2 Clios have clear side repeaters as standard?
Been looking when ive spotted a MK2 Clio in town, and some have orange and some have clear repeaters?
Does anyone know what Silver MK2 172s have as standard?
I have a personal plate on my MK1 172, which im trading in this weekend.
I aksed the dealer what happens when i trade the car in, he told me that he will fill in all the paperwork for me when we exchange cars. The dealer implied this was no problem and easily done.
There is an £80 fee...
Hmm, strange, the disks work fine in my home stereo so i must be finalising them correctly.
These are cheap Dixons own make disks, i suppose i should try some branded disks and see if they work.
Has anyone got their factory fitted Renault stereo to play CD-Rs?
My 172 mk1 CD changer fails to read any CD-Rs i burn. So is this just my unit, my CD media or an evil ploy by Renault to cut down on music piracy?
