If all else fails I could sort you out a PTFE washer that you could tighten it up against. Any size mate not a problem.
Let me know if you need one via PM.
ATB
It will make a difference, especially with the thicker gaskets, but yes it makes most difference at idle or low rpm because the air is going through slower.
The Hondata inlet gasket is a common modification on CTRs etc - but they want top money for what is essentially the exact same product...
Sorry mate - to list the advantages:
1) Lower inlet temps - mainly at low rpm/tickover when the air is flowing through at its lowest, but there will be a slight decrease in temps all over the range just less noticable higher up
2) Re-useable
3) Not effected by high vibration / oil /...
16v_paddy ones come from me - if you need any PM me mate.
My sets are lazer cut, we have sold probably hundreds of gaskets on here.
The set includes a plenum gasket, a manifold gasket, plus x2 washers for the spporting bolts at the back. Price is £40 including postage.
Gaskets were produced but due to differences in manifolds (i.e. tolerances) we did experience some sealing issues.
Currently working on a new development to overcome this.
PTFE V6 manifold gaskets are available for when you are using throttle bodies of course. Plenum gasket is always...
PTFE gaskets will reduce the inlet temps but it can be hard to notice the difference as the air is passing through so quickly - most difference at tick over and low rpm.
Main advantage - durability and reuseability
if you want any give me a shout - my set also includes washers for the rear...
Nobody else has ever had any issues and loads of these have been fitted now. AFAIK Jamsport have been fitting these without issue and they were also trialled vigorously prior to production.
Have you got the gasket on the wrong way around?
If they overlap then the standard ones do too as...
Standard OE RS ones are just normal gaskets like you get on any clio I presume - they are just made from normal gasket material, like a thin sort of metal IIRC.
PTFE ones are made in PTFE material which doesn't conduct heat; the idea being that the heat transfer from the head is reduced to the...
the gaskets do help to reduce temps quite a lot - of course eventually when sat in traffic baking 'an oven is an oven' lol and will just heat everything up but even still every little helps.
With your inlets this is a discounted cost - as in all in one cost from a trader.
Of course if anyone wants to buy x10 sets then of course I'll give you discount!
One-off sales are always more expensive as expected. And actually £40 is well cheap in comparison to other things on the market...
The gasket can be customised (i.e. I can make you larger ports) however with any custom this does mean slight additional cost. However most inlets are gasket matched - any further than this is a waste as your head inlet ports wont allow for the additional.
And you can adjust them perhaps with...
woo! i supply the gaskets mate - it is nothing to do with hill power - thats just a misunderstanding following from my forum user name!
Full set of gaskets for 182 is £40 delivered.
You probably will need new gaskets yes mate because the standard ones are likely to leak upon attempting reseal. If you go for the PTFE gaskets you should never need to buy any intake gaskets again as they are reuseable.
Drop me a PM if you want the PTFE gaskets.
Hard for me to say on...
Excellent lol
Just looking back through the forum these are some of the results though there are snippets across many threads....
"....a good 4-6 degrees C lower throughout all the time compared to before! I did the same drive as before, with the outside temp exactly the same at 8 degrees...
Hi mate;
Fristly - come to me for your PTFE gaskets. Heat Sheild could make a difference but obviously you dont want to use something that will absorb the heat.
Secondly - smoothing inside of the airbox - I don't see it making much difference but FYI I did do it on my V6 Golf Airbox along...
Just buy them seperately mate - i.e. not in the group buy setup
Maybe a few quid more but you should get sorted straight away.
If it helps I can provide the thermal intake gaskets seperately but you will get a cheaper combined price (I'd think) from Jamsport.
Can we all try and remember that Jamsport/Mark are running a business so dont have the time to be always checking PMs and updates on a forum thread.
It is a big task they have undertaken at a good price (combined with quality product) for the benefit of all and whilst I do appreciate...
