it isn't easy to do well - you'd have to ask around locally or get very handy with a drill bit...
this is a group BUY thread for information about purchasing the items concerned, you may get better answers on the subject in the normal technical section mate :) that way we dont clog it up...
somebody must be willing to help?
We already have the design all I need is to ascertain the thickness... in exchange I will do you the first PTFE gasket once thickness is confirmed at absolute bottom price, not including postage. only means taking your inlet manifold off - saying yeah that...
as above been mentioned many many times as a good mod on 172s due to std restrictions - better flow and some people have seen impressive bhp gains. the gaskets mean while lower air temps by not conducting heat to the manifold from head so air is colder - colder = denser = big bang = quicker.
yeah - as in not to disrupt any standard fitting parts/techniques.
on the 172 for instance we could only fit 1.5 and 1mm gaskets due to space constraints and breather setups but on a Nissan Pulsar with lots of space (in certain places!!) we fitted a 5mm gasket. 3mm IMO is optimum performance...
Basically we have a gasket drawn up - we need someone to verify it is a good fit and also what maximum thickness we can go up to whilst still keeping an OEM fitment....
I'd suggest sending you a few 1mm cardboard samples which you could then build up and build up - I wouldn't recommend going...
fitting yourself shouldn't take too long if you are half handy with a set of spanners... personally I'd say set aside a Saturday which will include time if anything goes wrong. If you get it done early go for a blast to enjoy then come back for an early p1ss up! :approve:
Not sure if the inlets are the same I presume not....
I am currently working on producing thermal intake gaskets for the 197...

I can discuss with Jamsport similar options to this thread for 197 owners at some...
I presume you will have to buy the lot from Jamsport which will be:
Inlets and Gaskets:
1-5 people - £175.50
6-10 people - £155
11-20 people - (currently) £145 plus the price of the actual inlets + P&P (£?)
Then when you get your old inlets off send them back for a refund on the price...
relatively - depends how competent you are but a fair few on here have done it and various people have commented that they will post up a few pics and how tos. I would put aside a Saturday to do it if you hadn't done it before - if you have done it before like most things u'd probably do it in a...
