Thanks Steve
I think that any bad feedback on Jamsport's behalf would be unfair (not that we would) as evidently they are doing all they can and at a very good price.
All we can do is push people to return their inlets ASAP as this is vital and hope for regular updates from Jamsport...
Contact me if you want a PTFE gasket set. Jamsport are using them on their inlets and hopefully JMS tuning will be doing too. Icarus is a very respected figure on this site and he gives the gasket a vote of thumbs up - more so than anything because they are reuseable so you should never need to...
Yeah mate you may as well invest in one as you'll never have to replace it again - as it happens I have a spare plenum gasket let over from a set at home - drop me a PM if your interested.
LOL no way mate! Sorry chap... £25 is the standard £p for a 3mm gasket - £2 postage. If you paid via paypal personal I might be able to knock it down a quid or so but not £12 off!
People on the GTIR forum were paying £70 or more for Gizmo thermal gaskets!
Always learn from what you do though mate - I think you are doing a great job at the moment; keep it up. Better to take a little bit more time and get the +ve positive results than rush it and provide cr4p!
Hi;
someone people do fit without doing this however it seems popular to file down an edge to get them to fit more comfortably.
Good list of tools mate - nice one - maybe you could do a thorough 'how to'?! lol ;)
going by past experience people have used a 3mm gasket - this will offer optimum performance for the money. on every other application I have designed for we have used 3mm (GTIRs, Valvers, T5...).
it makes me laugh when people complain about not seeing a huge difference - your only flowing an inlet (and in some instances reducing intake temps) so bang for buck is actually very good and is a good way of helping it all breathe better.
without spending mega bucks your not going to see a...
Hi All;
Just to help clarify I will be doing business with Jamsport on these as well like we did with the 1*2 setups if there is enough people interested - i.e. group buy prices on PTFE thermal intake gaskets alongside the flowed inlets.
We are currently developing the gaskets as the...
seanaldo - bad times mate!
GazM - if it helps you to spread the cost I can supply you the thermal intake gaskets seperately - drop me a PM if you need them.
It will still benefit from being matched mate - they are just better to start.
If you are getting it matched it doesn't matter which one you start with.
Alex_tull1 - we spent a very long time developing the thickness and trying many variants of this (all our at own expense) to make sure this does not happen. The manifold gasket is not that much thicker than the OEM to be honest - its only 1.5mm thick. I bet we have sold over 20-30 sets of these...
Riley - give em a break mate and I doubt HIGHLY you were lied to! Sure you will recieve shortly - as I previously stated if you have a problem with the order contact Jamsport or PM mark. One or two bad examples does not set a true picture of the extreme hard work Jamsport are putting into this...
I can't believe how much disruption is caused by a bit of snow! The problem is with the carriers and sadly a bit out of Jamsport's control. I know Mark is doing all he can to chase them though... I know it is annoying for us all!
Well i've been running an 80mm CAF into my 4MO airbox, right in the lower grille and the car is lowered, all the way through winter and no problems - you would be very unfortunate to say the least but yes I suppose it could happen.
The midlands area has been hit badly - we had 30 deliveries not arrive at our work place in 2 days which sent our service level into a massive decline!
Keep up the good work Mark. :)
You can’t reuse the gaskets that are on the car as you stand a very high chance of getting air leaks; you could buy standard Renault items through Jamsport but the difference in price would be about £10 extra for the PTFE.
£10 or so extra is definitely worth it – to be fair £50 would be...
