wanting to put a renault badge over the boot lock on my mk1, trying to find the best badge size to use. from what i've been able to find out, the front badge off a mk2 ph2 is the best option, its the smallest besides the front one on my mk1, which is too small. it needs to have a flatish back...
best option'll be the mac mini then, can have yourself hooked up in the time it takes to get to and from an apple store pretty much. don't think you have to get he top of the range either if u're just using it for internet/multimedia. the basic 1.5gGHz intel core solo would probably suffice. as...
apple got the idea from 'barebones' pcs, http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/store/2/category/Barebones/rb/20760297640 which are of a similar size, and have been going for quite a few years, they're popular with gamers as they can take them easily to LAN parties and the such. that kind of system is what'd...
i've got nothing against macs, they look great, feel nice. the mac mini is a nice idea, basically the principle of a laptop without any interfaces, which is great for easily transporting your data around, and if it's used for what it is intended, like what MattT is.
only gripe i have with...
the rubber sits on the bolt, which should be threaded, probably not all the way up, some come with nuts, some don't, if not, get some locking nuts the right size from ur diy store (or ur dads shed, like me!)
as regards fitting, like 16v jon said, put it on axle stands at the front, take off...
i'd have the 182 over the zr, the zr just looks sluggish, not a great start for a hot hatch!
what i can't get my head around is how they only got 180bhp out of the 2.5V6 in the zs-180, about the same as a 182 in a bigger car with much more weight. tho my brothers did go like the preverbial...
wheels 1st. in my opinion, the best kits for clios are the renault ones, and by that i mean the valver/williams for the mk1 and the 172/182 for the mk2. can't say i've seen any others i'm struck on
wouldn't mind if i could see the money being put back into the transport system, and i don't mean paying for trains and buses, the black stuff my car drives on, that and all the millions from speed cameras. when do you ever see that money being spent to improve 'road safety', apart from more...
yeah, are we talking bout the circuitboard behind the light unit or the chipboard that sits closer to the sunroof? noticed the other day the wire connectors have a wire running between each other, does anyone know if the infrared unit routes through the light unit circuitboard?
it would, what you'd need is for the drillbits to be like cogs, with a shroud encasing it, statically attached to the drill, then attach the buffer to the offset bit.
easy...
I'm running 195 45 R15s and was wondering what you guys would recommend as the optimum pressure, unlaiden and fully laiden. never really knew exactly what pressure to have them at since inheriting the car from my brother, he forgot, the dosey tit.
cheers.
EDIT: had it as 65 before, they're...
rested my foot on my clutch the other day (mk1 p1 rt) waiting for a mate to get in the car, noticed i could slide my foot right up the pedal arm and touch the steering column, can feel it rotate when i turn the wheel (obviously). was wondering if there's a shroud or something similar missing or...
do they actually do owt? anything show up on the facia display when they go down? replaced my pads the other week and noticed they weren't attached before.
that's my take on modding, its about personalising the car for me, i like to make little changes that i'll notice, and not necessarily anyone else who isn't familiar with the various standard clio models. for instance, last summer i colour matched all the black plastic parts on the exterior of...
lol, i've taken to calling it that after i came out with it after a long day dicking about with the car the other week. dunno, bit of white man reggae might help it along a bit.
looking good, prefer the wheels on the 1st picture mind, but i love multispoke jobbies.
get yourself down a scrappers for a grill, whip it off, give it a spray, job done. cheaper too.
yeah mate, a consistant drop would point to a problem, was just saying how unreliable various parts of our dear old clios are!
as regards tank size, when i got mine i ran it to near empty then filled it right up, see roughly how much it cost to fill it, worked out at around 30 litre
as long as you put plenty of UB40 in it a few days before doing it, give it time to soak in, it should come out fine. wish i'd lowered mine the other week, instead of just fixing it up to get it through the mot, but time wasn't on my side.
i've chosen the completely disregard my fuel gauge. mainly cos it's s**t. it'll fly down to 1/4 tank and stay there for ages, then drop right down to nearly empty, it'll then run for at least another 20 odd miles or more.
i'd do it yourself, if you're confident, pretty straight forward job on a mk1. depends if you have the tools. all u need is axle stands, trolley jack, torque wrench, spring compressors and a haynes. need to jimmy up a tool for the rear torsion bar, but that's straight forward enough.
if...
Hope someone has some insight into this,
put my mk1 1.4rt through mot the other day, failed on incomplete springs, amongst other things, long story short, shock absorber bolts and nuts in the engine bay were stuck fast, no heat or force could shift em, so chiseled em off and went to fit...
