I'd wait until the end of this year, Windows 7 is the first OS to be SSD 'aware' and makes a much better job of managing thr filesystem/fragmentation which is at present a problem if your continually writing data to your HDD.
Personally I'm waiting until the OEM start rolling them out en masse...
They've already categorically stated they will honour all future warranty claims.
The new Pioneer LCD is mean't be a great TV, the processor from their Plasma is on-board and with the dimming backlights, they've managed Plasma blacks using LCD technology, only like £700 notes too.
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6
Passcode lock is essential tbqfh. Although I'm speaking as a business user, but I can't imagine not having some level of security on my phone (or any device I own).
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6
^That's not a new function, it was hidden in the Passcode Lock menu in 2.2.1 and before. Still a PITA, I wish you could disable the whole thing, and instead it just placed a small envelope next to the battery of something...

1. Plug in your iPhone.
2. Start iTunes.
3. Right click your iPhone from within iTunes, click Backup.
4. Once complete, go to iPhone Info/Summary page.
5. Hold down Shift, and press Restore.
6. From the Explorer window, select the IPSW...
Thanks Glos182, but as Mike rightly pointed out I was a portable business laptop. Soon gets boring carrying a 5LB laptop around London/travels.
Mile, I heard the Dell holds the record for battery life IIRC? I'll check them out tho I'll be honest I'm a snob.
Cheers for the suggestions!
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6
I do indeed sn00p, we've got a few ideas for an app to query our CRM. Plus if we ehm...manage to make any games, we 're able to dish them out without the need for Appstoring it.
Got 2x20" monitors on my desk, along with another spare...
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6
Nein, I will be though. Got it cleared by work so going to get the Enterprise package and see what we can build. Also going to try and wangle myself a new 13" MBP ;)
Just updated as per method I posted on Page 43.
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6
Right, you can upgrade your 2.2.1 software to version 3.0GM using iTunes 8.2.
I tried it and it worked fine for moi, obviously can't offer any warranty, but it works fine. The only thing you'll need is the IPSW, it's up and down on...
Those folders should naturally inherit the default layout of those in an Explorer window.
First port of call would be to open explorer (start>run>explorer.exe), setup the layout of the folder as per your preference, then default this view system wide by selecting - View>Tools>Folder...
White is shite, just looks too try hard. Black would be my choice again.
To answer my question then, I buy a dev license. I can download 3.0, right now? Yes/No.
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 Discussion. Software out soon. No date yet. Same with iPhone
Could use this indeed, makes hiding things from the Mrs easier...like 3am phone calls to other ladies.
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 Discussion (New hardware Expected 9/6/2009)
Mail search is crucial for me, been pisching me off for months now. Constantly forwarding myself old messages from Outlook so I can find them without needing to sync a mailbox with 14,000 items in.
Re: iPhone Software 3.0 Discussion (New hardware Expected 9/6/2009)
Won't be tomorrow IMO, wouldn't be sensical to release the software on the day of the conference - they want a buzz.
Best thing about it (from a user POV), is that if you do a video search for some something usually blocked by your employers proxy server, it will bypass it.
From an admin POV, I'm not going to have to Wireshark the fking thing and block whatever cached address it's pulling the data from.
