    iOS "must have" apps

Re: iPhone "must have" apps? Not sure specifically how CoPilot works, but most GPS apps seem to use a combination of: •Cell tower triangulation. •GPS. •Accelometrics, using the accelerometer data to process speed/direction of movement. Navigon works well, but lack of 7 digit postcode is...

    iOS "must have" apps

Spotify on iPhone Well, I got sick of waiting for the 'tards at Cupertino to approve the iPhone client. Luckily, there's a free open source client available on Cydia (requires jailbreak, obviously) called 'Spot'. You'll still need a premium account (£10pm), but it works perfectly. The one...

    iOS "must have" apps

Re: iPhone AppStore must haves? ^No. I've been rinsing quite a few apps lately (thanks Puy0), some useful additions are: MotionX GPS - Great GPS tracking tool, I use it for cycling. It plots your journey, and records speed/route/altitude etc. Runkeeper Pro - Much the same as the above, but...

    Strange iPhone text issue

I've had this happen. +I get an MMS from a mate (called Andy), except it's not his number. +I add it to the existing contact 'Andy' as a new number. I then replied with a picture of my beard (not pantie beard). +I get a reply asking "Who is this please?" +I reply with... Andy, it's James...

For that amount of users, it seems like a big layout. I'd look into Skype (and the many alternatives) along with softphones. http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/business/ Won't suit every business model (you haven't really made clear how your company operates), but certainly an easy/cost effective...

    Battlefield 1943

Played this again yesterday for the additional 30 minutes. They really need to fix the tank, I was actually having to run away (well, felt like it) from a single infantry soldier with a RPG... You can blow a ruddy great big hole in a building with 1 shell, but kill a soldier? No chance, try 3/4...

    Battlefield 1943

I was on the trial (PS3) for the 30 minutes and thought it wasn't bad tbh, no lag at all this afternoon. Just seemed to lose the tactical element that you get with playing it on a PC. Worth a punt at £10, though it's nothing on Warhawk!

Hm... Nit strictly true in my experience. We're plugged to their 10/100 MPLS cloud, loads of bband users, and numerous SDSL/LL sites with them. Generally they're not bad, but this week they're farking dire. CS wise they're doing 'OK', but the service is w@nk, to which they're pointing to a...

Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6 I found I was at times calling people instead of playing an album, but a quick Google for the correct syntax fixed that, the commands very helpfully marquee around on the Voice Control screen also. 95% of the time it's absolutely spot...

Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6 3G to 3GS, speed increase is noticable, though not breathtaking when moving through Springboard. Compass integration is useful for Maps, saves walking 50 yards in the wrong direction before GPS dot updates. Camera quite a bit better...

Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6 It'll take several full charge cycles to be at it's optimum. Best ways of increasing battery life are: -Turn down screen brightness, makes a huge difference. -Turn off Bluetooth/Wireless unless you need them. -Turn down email fetch...

Re: iPhone Software 3.0 - Out 17/6 & iPhone 3GS - Out 19/6 Really don't see the point in wrapping it in a case. Unless it's to stop it sliding out of your pocket, which can happen easy enough. Screen doesn't need protecting at all. My new 3GS is arriving today, actually couldn't give a...
