I had this very same problem. I was going to swap them for Blue Vision bulbs so they match the rest of them, but to be honest I dont hardly use the fog lights, except in fog
The bulbs are H11 type, and i was told that as the H11 are a new type of bulb, the ones Renault put in are brighter...
Yes the manual advises 5w40 oil. I use Shell Helix synthetic, but when i called Renault to ask what they will use in the service in my car the guy said he was sure they use 10w40.
I hope not as they will have to empty it out and fill it up again !

Just spoke to Chris again and after speaking to Pipercross, he confirmed it will be ready in about 2 weeks. Cant wait.
Would also like to say what a thoroughly nice and helpful chap Chris has been. Good on ya mate !
Dave
Well i have finally gone and ordered it after much hesitation !!
Got it from Carnoisseur in Westcliff-on-Sea nr Southend. Will have to be made so it will take about 2 weeks but it cant go on until after the service anyway !! I even got me 10% discount for being in the club too !!!

The PY21 and PY21W bulbs are slightly different. The PY21 has the 2 bayonet pins directly opposite, i.e. 0 degrees and 180 degrees. The PY21W has them slightly offset, i.e. 0 degrees and 150 degrees.
The Clio uses the PY21W socket/bulb for its indicators. I am not aware that a PY21 is...
They are PY21W. If you look at them the pins on teh bayone fitting are slightly offset, i.e. not directly opposite each other like they are inb the PY21.

I spoke to people at www.potn.co.uk, Midland Performance Center and http://www.proven-products.co.uk and they said it is definitely avaiable for tne mk2 172.
£250 delivered.
From what i remember they are a bit awkward if you have banger-fingers like me !! Consult the manual for help, they do come out as i changed my for Philips Blue Vision.

Does anyone use one of these filter on a mk1 or mk2 172 ??
I am on the verge of ordering one but wanted to know how others have got on with them ??
Dave
I fitted as Ramair Suparam induction ki to my mk2 172, and as there was not one designed for it, i put the mk1 kit on. It fitted almost perfectly.
But yes the airboxes are different to filter elements for a mk1 will not fit in a mk2. mk1 uses a cyliner filter and the mk2 uses a flat...
Thats what i was hoping !! Apparelty there is a silicone hose supplied with the kit, but finding somewhere behind the grille will be tricky as the radiator is so fekkin massive theres not much space !
I did have a Ramair induction kit installed and it gave me 168bhp (drop of 4) but gave me 151 lb/ft torque (up 3.5).
Dyno plot is at the following link.

I think i will try the Pipercross Viper kit when i have saved up a few quid.
Just had a long conversation with Mark Fish from Mark Fish Motorsport about induction kits.
The main problem with the 172 is that is is very difficult to get cool air into the engine. If you use an induction kit (cone filter), then it is going to suck in warm air and you will lose...
