For my money I'd buy a 'runaround' (more comfy than a vx220) and a westfield/caterham (quicker and more fun than a vx220). The VX is just too middle of the road - impractical but not quite raw enough...
What are people's thoughts on these?
(Pref. from people that have used them before ;))
Any good on track, or more a road tyre?
What downsides?
Cheers.
Average about 30mpg with mainly short journeys and some infrequent motorway stuff thrown in.
Tyres lasted about 14k before they needed changing.
No trackdays on those.
You could paint it that shitty grey colour yourself couldn't you?
Save yourself a couple of grand but unfortunately you'd still be left with a flat and horrible coloured car ;)
The 2020's are magnesium and cost around £300 a wheel.
The 2118's are alloy and look the same. They cost around £105 a wheel and are a little bit lighter (so I read).
Gaz's aren't homo, they'll drop as low as you want (past the point of being able to steer left and right if that's your thing.
As long as you're not one of those numpties that has to use kerb/tyre combination to find out when to stop, you'll be fine.
The apex springs don't usually drop it 40mm at the front (more like 30mm) and I had mine dropped 60mm at the front and even then it was the exhaust that scrapped before...
I'd take that Evo6, looks nice from what I can see.
Reminds me of my years at college - there was a guy who had a Fiesta 1.4 with all the bodykit, etc. and admittedly at the time (we're going back a few years!) it was a nice looking car. But unbelievably he decided to pack in the college...
Hi Maz, what spring rates are you running on your Gaz coilovers?
Also, what damper settings have you got set for Front / Back? (number of clicks from hardest)
Hey you guuys!
Any updates on this? Justin, have you managed to get your brakes sorted? Is the consensus that its a faulty brake master cylinder causing lack of brake assistance?
Brian, are your brakes still good?
