The heatshielding looks good Mark - tempted to relocate my battery now!
As for the wheels, hmmm, just don't look special enough to be worth the change. Although wheels are a very personal choice - look at the Marmite response to my Rota's.
p.s. don't buy Rota's until my issue is resolved...
I'm pretty sure items on sale in UK are covered by laws which state they must be fit for their purpose. The purpose of these wheels is to be strong, light and look good. Unfortunately 2 out of 3 isn't good enough and hopefully Rota will agree.
Yes, I've been talking to Rarerims (via email) and so far it looks promising. They have got the wheels serial number and are tracing the batch with Rota to find out more. I gave them the info yesterday morning, so I'll chase them again tomorrow if I haven't heard anything.
Would be better to own a water can that saved a whale....I know its not the watering cans fault, but you would always see it, knowing that it didn't save the whale. Poor can.
Why wouldn't you have a silver 182? Its titanium silver which replaced iceburg silver from the 172's (which I think my mk1 v6 had too) - anyway, the new colour is so much nicer, really shines unlike most other silver cars that look a bit yellow / grey.
...and I've been drinking this water too?! :dead:
Yup, I drive to and from work during the week, then get a very standard looking sponge and dip it in very normal soapy water and wash the wheels.
Rarerims have responded to my email - I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks guys - I've emailed them in the first instance so they can see the pictures and read the information. I'll let you know how I get on dealing with rarerims.
Ben, I don't have any whole-wheel pics that show the damage. They still look good from a distance!
I wouldn't expect the council to do anything - road salt is something they use in the UK, and if these wheels can't cope with that, perhaps they shouldn't be sold in the UK, or sell them with a...
The pics below are close-ups of my Rota Slipstream wheels. They've been used for only 2 months from brand-new, they've been cleaned every week without fail and only driven shortish journeys in that time.
The near-side rear wheel is far worse than the other 3, but they are all showing signs of...
Just want to put this into perspective...As a GAZ coilover user I strangely feel the need to give my view on them as they're getting pretty badly slated on here. Firstly, if you want them to work properly, they'll need to be set fairly hard - about 15 clicks from hardest (out of 42) - if they're...
£30 isn't going to be a proper tracking system! They'll hang some Austin Powers style laser-beams and pretend that its toe'd correctly.
I'll make it simple:
1) Go to www.alignmycar.com
2) Search by postcode for your nearest centre
3) Phone them and check price (won't be less than £50-75)...
Its not a mock-up - that's the real thing! And....oh yes, I touched it! ;)
Freebone, you're right, its the HQ in Milton Keynes. My GF was kind enough to sneak me in :approve:
