with the tensioner, you have to take out the driver headlight, indicator, i took the bonnet off too.
then you slcken off the tensioner wheel (dont turn it more than once) aniticlockwise with a 7mm allen key .
then with a 22mm open ended spanner turn the nut on the wheel anticlockwise not...
problem is none of the above comments are from alarm experts, when I posted asking why everyone were saying standard renault alarms are supposdly s*** it all went mysteriously quiet.
Speak to several different dealers/fitters at the end of the day they deal with alarms all day long.

If you clean everything properly, time you have allowed it all to dry and wotnot it all ads up.

Take off the plastic bit that holds the oil plug, then take out the outer bolts.
Then the inner bolts.
Diconnect the two pipes at the front and lift off.
Pull the old gasket away, chuck it,and clean all the metal edges up both sides.

I replaced my rocker gasket to get rid of oil on the sparks and so far I have not had this problem since, if anything it now sometimes revs a little higher on idle.
yes it is supposed to, if you take the head off the switch theres a strange looking bulb on a spring, never seen anything like it, thats all that needs replacing but geuss its a renault only part?
I put duck tape around the top of mine (not on the out plastic bit but the inner bit lookin in from the roof of the car), cured most of it and took like 10 minutes, however the aerial always has something to do with it so am going to silicone that up just in case.

took the card off and everything is connected, so it would seem.
when you move the rod from the handle a brass bit moves upwards but doesnt open the door.

good news, sort of. the back two teeth on the rack were snapped but still managed to get it tensioned.
to tension it on mine its anticlockwise, so a big misprint in the haynes manual.
thought it was the belt making the squeeking noise on my car but its still there, belt was split anyway...
the nut on mine is a 22mm, got an adjustable and also a ring spaner in there too!
in the manual it tells you to go clockwise to slacken it then go clockwise again to tighten it, mmm.
