door wont open from outside

on the valver the passenger door will not open from outside.

took the card off and everything is connected, so it would seem.

when you move the rod from the handle a brass bit moves upwards but doesnt open the door.

the central locking works as doe the internal handle.

ant idea? the manual doesnt explain how it works.

it sounds like the connecting rod has straightened its out, normally starts by the handle having to be pulled very hard to open the door, if you take out the connecting rod, you will see it is not straight, gently increase the bend in the rod, effectivly making the rod shorter thus operating the catch fully!
