But surely theres a bit more tuning potential in the 1.6 than the 1*2 engines, which already have a much higher specific output (bhp/litre) so its more than likely that some mods will give more noticeable increases in power/ torque on the smaller, less highly tuned (as standard) engine. So the...
So if i were to get my hands on a complete inlet manifold ( metal and plastic), I could arrange for it to be ported?? and would other tuning shops be able to carry out this work?? As i understand AW are a little bit busy?? Is the manifold just opened out to the gasket where it meets the head...
So this ''special'' inlet mod for the 1.6 is similar to the much awaited new 1*2 inlet?? How much would the inlet porting cost/gain on the 1.6?? Finally, someone doing something for the k4m motor, i can see the the overdraft taking a good reaming in the near future!!!!
just the passenger side, but it did it using either button, drivers or passengers, so theres a spool and motor in the door, whats the regulator?? an electrical bit??? sounds like a mechanical failiure to me.
Does anyone know anything about changing the leccy window motor on a mk 2 ph 1 clio, when I press the button for the passenger window on either side of the car, nothing happens. How much should the parts cost, and is it an easy job??? Im fairly handy with the spanners, but ive never taken the...
If youre changing the downpipe/cat, you dont need to cut anything, you need to drop the rear of the subframe an inch or so, just to get the front flange in. its simple enough.
Is there any reason for the redline being at 6.5k rpm, rather than 7 or 7.5? can the lump not handle it? or is it just mapped/cammed to suit popping down the shops, rather than giving it beans on track/strip?? Itd be interesting to hear what an expert has to say about the design of the engine as...
Are you using single or bi-hex sockets? ive found bi-hex to be crap for rounding bolts off. Ive heard that a small blowtorch might do the trick for getting rid of the corrosion though.
hmm.. my clank sounds too light to be the engine moving, pretty sure its the exhaust or a heatshield. but my cars been through a complete exhaust (rear section snapped and manifold cracked at the flange) and all the mounts have had to be replaced at 68k, so im wondering if the engine mounts...
Could worn engine mounts cause damage to my exhaust?? i.e excessive movement damaging the manifold, or causing the downpipe/cat pipe to clank off the subframe in left hand bends?? sorry for hijaking the thread,:)
hasnt that motor been put in a few corsas?? same engine as was in the cavalier v6 just mounted transversely??? cant think why youd want one in a clio, whats wrong with a good spec 2.0 hybrid??
1.6 's arent that quick, ive had one for just over a year now and im well bored!!! rsi is basically a trim level, using the same engine/ running gear and i think, suspension as all the other 1.6 16v (pre vvt) clios. mind you the seats are miles better than the ones a mate has in his 172 cup, the...
dont you mean camshaft pulley ( at the top of the engine )??? i think the haynes manual tells you to use a tool (Y shaped bar with pegs in the end) to lock the camshaft pulley in place, allowing you to undo the bolt/nut without turning the shaft. although couldnt you just release some of the...
if yours is the same engine as mine, the coil should only need a torx bit (cant remember the size) to undo and just pull off the top of the spark plug, then unclip the lead. mines had 3 new coils already, it just drops onto three cylinders, you change the coil, and problem solved. i really hope...
think your mate might be thinking a little too deep into it. if its a speed related vibe, get your tracking, alignment and balancing checked. eliminate the cheap and easy things before starting to rip driveshafts out.
have you kerbed your wheels?? if so, get your tracking and alignment checked. if youve had new tyres recently, did you get your wheels balanced. driveshafts are solid bits of metal, not much can go wrong with them apart from cv joints????
My ph2 RSi has now been off the road for a couple of months now, most recently with an exhaust leak, either from the manifold/downpipe joint, or the manifold itself, and im starting to get fed up of having a car just sitting there. Ive recently got a 1500 quid bonus from work and am now really...
dnt think the volvos that simple a swap, think eviljohn was doin one not long ago. id have thought a 5 turbo lump would be easiest, smaller engine, less electrics.but im no guru!!!!
