If only there were some way they could increase the amount of time for doing real police work...like not having to pull people for having illegal number plates.
Re: i had skidded today and my front passenger wheel hit the curb then the back wheel
Take the wheels off and put them in a bath of hot water- then post pics of before and after so we can see if its fixed it.
Its a similar response to what you'd get on here if someone said their suzuki swift or similar could keep up with an rs clio. You get it on every forum.
You're just as bad as the white van driver then, dishing out your own payback. You could easy crack a windscreen doing that and like you said scaring them and could cause them to have an accident.
From what you've said, I am gonna guess that he came up behind you in the middle lane, saw you not moving over so overtook you, cut back into your lane then into the slow lane and let you pass. Then he built up speed to undertake you to demonstrate you should have also moved over and to prove...
Brilliant figures at such low boost, what size turbo was that?I went in a 360bhp Ibiza once and that was ridiculous, so 100kg or so lighter with similar power must feel insane.
I'll try and be clearer, I am thinking how nice it would be to have say for example 10psi from 2k rpm to the redline so the restrictor would be fully open at low rpm allowing the full 10 psi then as engine revs rise and boost would normally be increasing further, the butterfly/iris/whatevr...
Thats what I was aiming at, no restriction at lower rpm so full boost, more restriction at higher rpm thus controlling boost.I'm just theorising really as obviously this wouldn't be a practical application for a clio unless you were running drag radials to drive to work.
Yes i mean variable vanes on the superchargers compressor though linked to throttle position.Or even a kind of camera shutter type valve instead of a restrictor which would open at low revs and close at higher ones.
Edited to add a butterfly valve as a restrictor would be even easier and not so...
Yeah thats what I was wondering, how to get good boost low down but still be able to control it at higher revs so you aren't gettin ridiculous boost levels and killing the engine.Did a bit of reading and it seems you can fit wastegates similar to turbos to bleed off boost instead of exhaust gas...
Isn't a SC geared though? Also you can change pulleys to give more boost for same rpm.
I love the idea of superchargers compared to turbos, one guy put one on his pulsar and look at the results:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEWYhfvE2EQ
Makes 1 bar at 2k rpm, you'd be looking at 3500rpm...
I thought the power/torque would be very similar for the same amount of air being pumped in and fuel injected. The supercharger is going to lose some in being driven but the turbo loses some in higher inlet temps and back pressure caused by the turbine.
I can see why a turbo might feel quicker...
I don't know if its ever been done but aSunny/Pulsar GTiR comes with quad throttle bodies as standard and will flow more than enough for anyones needs. The best bit is you can pick them up very cheaply-probably less than £100 but then obviously you have to make them work. They also have...
Any fault lights on the dash?My Laguna dci had one come up that limited boost/power and it turned out to be a broken wire on the map sensor.Once soldered up it ran fine again.
Ask the seller who set up his TB's and give them a call.See if its what you'd consider within driving distance to iron out niggles and how much it will cost.If thats to your liking then consider trying that initially.
If you don't like the idea of that, see if the seller will renegotiate the...
If it revs fine when you slowly apply throttle then it does sound like it could be the turbo. If the oil seals go then it can just keep pumping oil into the engine which will burn and the engine will rev faster and faster and eventually self destruct. You can't even turn the engine off.This...
If you are using that much oil then its either getting in through the inlet manifold which would probably mean a knackered turbo oil seal or from leaking piston rings allowing oil to pass them or exhaust gases to pressurise the oil system and force oil through a breather in the top of the engine...
I like the idea of this, then at least you get to pick the turbo you want and the money saved on not buying a new engine can be spent on getting the right CR with pistons/HG.
Did you have ot have an exhaust manifld fabricated or were you able to buy one off the shelf?
Mace you need to add in another (100% accurate) picture of the 360 spin caused by the oversteer which still enabled him to hit the car with his o/s front.
17" castors on the back?
Some manufacturers will service the coilovers for you and change the damping/spring rates to your spec.I was quoted £50 a corner to have my Teins revalved and about the same for the springs.Too late for the OP now but might help someone in the future.
Its something you are better off doing when rebuilding an engine. On my GTiR I had my crank, rods and lighweight flywheel balanced at the same time and along with alloy pulleys(all of them)lighter cam pulleys and slightly higher compression it made the engine rev much easier.
