For comfort,an open face helmet is better as you really get hot under a full face one.I still went for full face though becasue if I have a smash I dont want to bang my face on the steering wheel(non airbag car).
I presumed it was trip comp-my old R19 had one and displyed mpg, fuel left etc.
Yeah is far left guage:oops:.I really need to sit in the car for 5 minutes and suss what everything does.Still havent done this yet since buying it.
My trip computer only reads the temperature(and thats a bit suspect too).It wont cycle through the different readings. Are there any known faults that could cause this?
Also,my oil temperature guage goes up to maximum when I start car but then drops straight back to minimum from then on,not...
And so you should-zigzags are there to stop people parking and blocking the veiw of people on the crossing/forcing other cars to overtake on them(which is also an offence).
I dont work in insurance.I do know that there are more than one type of policy though, not just car ones. They generally make their profits from investing the money from premiums in other areas.
Insurance companies dont generally make a profit from premiums. They actually make a loss. The reason they stay in business is because they invest your premium on the markets.
Premiums are high for high risk cutomers like yourself.Theyll come down as your risk comes down.Mine isnt bad at all now...
Bide your time and build up your bonus like everyone else has to.Dont you think the insurance companies have had all this tried before many times?Theyre not complete idiots.
Well, not modifying didnt last long.Have got a K&N fitted and front upper and lower strut braces on the way.Anyone got any pics of homemade heatsheilds for the 57i kit to give me some ideas?
Ok-am getting tempted to mod-front lower and upper strut braces and maybe K&N insert for OE box, maybe a decat but thats it;).
I had the 57i kit on my old R19 and it sounded fantastic but heatsoak cancelled out any power gains.Do the panel filters give off a nice throaty roar or are they...
Gonna try and resist moding as I want a standard car-although I do have a spare stainless Blitz filter kicking around and the wheels of the GTiR will go straight on:D.
Clio would struggle to be better trackday car as Pulsar is stripped, fully adjustable suspension, polybushes, cage and getting...
Hi all-just picked up my 16v.Its a maroon(wanted blue but cant have everything) M reg with 60,000miles and FSH.Apart from the usual tin worm on the back arshes is in vgc.
I havent had chance to thrash it yet,but still have fond memories of my old R19 16v.I sold that when I bought my GTiR which...
His CR is way higher than 7.5:1 though.Running 1 bar on 11:1 would lunch the engine as it would detonate badly unless run on proper race fuel with a fully mappable ECU.
Benefit of higher CR though will be more torque off boost, less need to rev to get power and better mpg than a low CR...
I didnt realsie the CR was 11:1:o.Im raising mine to 8.7:1 and getting funny looks from other GTiR owners:cry:.You definitely dont want to run much boost without at least a very good intercooler and a decent ECU controlling it all.
If you want to lower the CR then the easiest way is to use a...
I cant tell from that picture-whats it off and what model is it?The A/R seems ok to me for a low boosting car with good driveability but for higher boost would be useless-the turbine would be very restrictive and cause a lot of backpressure, robbing you of power and not holding boost.
A good...
Yes but will also double the price of it.Think around the £1k+ mark,A smaller turbo doesnt need the RB core to get quicker spoolup but if it has it then all the better. An S14A T28 would be good for a 2l conversion as they have a relatively small A/R(0.64 I think) and RB vore as standard.Theyre...
A T34 is overkill for a higher compression engine. You want the smallest turbo that will run the boost/power you want.A bigger turbo has more lag and you wont get the benefit from it as you wont be running enough boost. It will make the car slower, even if it produces more power ultimately. If down...
Thats a very low A/R so will make for a good spoolup but with not much scope for topend power-youd be very lucky to see 280bhp with it-220bhp would be closer to mark with good driveability. What bearing type is it-I presume 270 degree?
What are you doing to the internals? On standard...
Heres a reply I got from an engine builder:
I think a newly biult engine always runs a little bit " tighter " , which is why we advise doing 1k miles before giving them any real stick , and even after that, we keep them at low boost for a further period , but thats really just to make sure...
