From the specs and the sound that thing makes it looks like its a lump from a GroupB Audi, S1 or something similar...
I know theyve had the 2.1 20vs to 1000bhp.
Impressive motor tho.
Um... just sounds like a sticking Solenoid. Mine used to on the passenger side of my 205. Might just need a clean... might need replacing! (breakers are a good place to start!)

When was the last service?
Clean the plugs and check gaps - they wont fire as efficiently when cold.
Dont know about Renaults but a lot of Fuel injected motors have Oxygen sencors and the like to monitor gases and adjust the fuel mixtures...

Power boost valve will help iron out flat spots caused by low fuel rail preasures, but they are notoriously difficult to set up!
Ecotek Ive heard lost of conflicting information about - and from what I can tell its basically making the fuel air ratio leaner...

I had the same problem in my pug - so I built a parcel shelf out of MDF on to which I bolted 4x 200w 6x9s and a 4x50w amp, that coupled with a Graphic Equaliser that also has 4x50w and the Head unit made for a v nice little setup... it was cheap too...

It simply helps prevent the strutts from flexing sideways letting the car sit flatter to the road when cornering and therefore letting the suspension and tyres do their job more effectivly...
Superb m8 - looks like a goodun! Does the K plate have a Cat on it? Oh - as for that clonking noise - could be CV joint which on a 205 is in as one with the Drive shaft... might be worth getting it looked at... as for the creaks - thats part of the charm! ;)

Think the manufacturer is Rotrex if that helps... :)
