Timing belt? That another name for the cam belt? Renault quoted me about £400 to change mine, much cheaper than you've been quoted.
Didn't go to Renault in the end.
Would look a little fishy if a 19 year old just happened to crash his 'mum's' (probably modified) clio 172 and needed to claim. Especially if his mum has a car of her own as well.
You're not going to do to the ph1 172 you're planning to buy, what you did to that 1.2 are you?
Oh and don't go under your mum's name, it's called insurance 'fronting', you're as good as uninsured if you need to make a claim.
V6, was a ph2 and blue. Spotted you in Sheldon (think it's Sheldon) Birmingham. Today at about 4pm.
The Willy, on the A449 Penn Road, was following you for a bit in my ph1 (was at about 5pm today). Your car looked low. Think it had an aftermarket exhaust too, can't be sure though. Was a M...
Does that mean you undid the four bolts and moved the black plate forward (towards front of car) in the direction shown with by my dodgy red arrow?
Because my ph1 was making the exact same noise your car did in your 0-60 video. This cured it. In your picture, that mount deffo needs...
I've got a similar problem too. It's a definate knocking as opposed to a squeek though.
I've described the noise in this thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=179279. I'm clueless as to what's causing it :S
It's been fine. My problem is that open areas of snow encourage me to be daft :dapprove: Brake pedal goes bonkers when trying to brake. Don't have ESP but it didn't understeer unless I did it on purpose.
Also had fun trying to reverse up my uphill driveway, took a couple of (ok, 4 or 5)...
SilverVision bulbs - Only mod I've done!
Although some Silverstars arrived in the post today, so the SilverVisions' position as best mod is under threat. :clown: :clown:
I'm too poor to afford proper mods. :dapprove:
You paid £6.5k for a ph1 172 last June?? You got robbed!
Paid £6k for mine, but that was nearly 2 and a half years ago. I'm selling it soon, God knows how much/little I'll get for it :S
Thought it was normal? The clutches are really heavy. You just get used to it.
When I drive other cars I feel like i'm stamping the clutch through the car floor as it's so light :S
It's not the exhaust, I've tried shaking it and the noise isn't as 'tinny' as the noise the exhaust makes when I banged it about. So it isn't the exhaust.
I've tried jacking the car up and using pieces of wood to lever the front and back wheels up and down - not a sound, so I don't think it's...
