lol at some of the comments. Just because he's 17 doesn't mean he's going to kill himself/crash it. Clios aren't even quick cars for a start.
If he was getting himself something like a superbike then some of the comments would be more acceptable.
Regarding the washers.... read this - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=184661
As for knocking on hard 1st gear acceleration, I had this. You need to undo the top mount on the left hand side of the engine, pull the engine as far forward as you can and then do up the mount...
Done. Managed to move the engine forward about 5mm or so.
Can't believe it, it's actually stopped the banging in hard 1st gear acceleration. I'm amazed
Thanks :D
Yes, no one knows what a 172 is so I just tell people I drive a clio, can't be bothered to explain the trim level etc. And yes, they often think it's chav'd up :dapprove: I tell them that's how it looked when it came out the factory.
They're also shocked, (not surprised but shocked) when...
Anyone got a photo of (or tell me in simple terms :D) which mount the bottom left diagram is referring to (please don't just say "top mount").
Oh and when loosening bolts labelled H and J in the diagram, do you just loosen or do you take them out before pulling the engine forward?
Thanks.
My 2000 clio is on 52k (ok, it's 20k below average) and it runs as sweet as anything.
My main concern wouldn't be the engine, it'd be the rest of the car!
How about a part of your clio you COULD live without? I'd say electric windows (have manual instead)! Pee'd off with mine as it's just broke lol (the other side broke about 18 months ago too). Damn things.
On topic umm... honestly it'll be that radio/CD control thingy by the steering...
^^^ Thought as much. Sod paying £70 for a complete unit because one little piece of plastic has snapped, i'm attempting a DIY jobby :S If that fails then I'll have to buy a new one :dapprove:
So you definately can't buy a seperate runner without having to buy the entire mechanism?
What's...
Ok, scrap that ^^^^
New question. The upper black wire which runs to a plastic thingymajig which is attached to the window itself... how do you remove this? I can rotate it slightly but it won't come off! This is the part (I think) which is broken.
Help!
My passanger side electric window has buggered up. I've removed the door cards and am currently trying to remove the mechanism. I've unbolted the motor but it has two black wires coming off it - one goes to the base of the door, the other goes to a slider attached to the window.
How do I...
