It was with eFax I think, couldn't really see the pricing on it though - does say something about local rate numbers but best not to I guess!
Daniel, that's very generous. Hopefully I'll be able to do it tomorrow though, as it's failed its MOT and needs the brakes done for that so sooner the...
Had a quick look earlier, looks like it should be fine - looks pretty rusty there but I think/hope I know what I'm doing!
Had a look through the guide in the guides section although that includes painting etc too but it shoudn't be too different
Just signed up for a free online fax number which is 44-7006-029-198
does that number make sense? It's meant to send the faxes as emails?
Otherwise no I haven't got one unfortunately!
I can't seem to find my haynes manual, If anyone has one handy could they do me a huge favour
I need to change the front discs & pads on my 1.2 and was hoping that someone may be able to scan the page on changing front pads/discs!
If not I'll pop into halfords on the way back tomorrow and try...
Yeah that's hoping they're the right ones!
From the guides, it looks like I need 13mm and 17/18mm to undo the caliper etc
Would something like this do the job...
I've got axle stands and basic tools, not sure about the g-clamp
Don't really fancy being halfway through doing it, and needing something else as there's noone else here/no other cars!
Cool, sounds promising
There's probably a guide in the guides section on here is there? Membership ran out the other week - will pay for it again if there is one!
Otherwise, what sort of tools would I need? I'm not an idiot, but haven't changed discs before
Just phoned a local motorfactors, he said they have:
Discs : £12.90 each
Pads : £9.14 each all plus vat
So thats £40ish altogether
Does that sound too cheap? If that sounds kosher I'll pop over and get those and fit them myself
Just taken my 04 1.2 clio for an MOT and came back saying the front dics(s) were excessively worn
They gave me a quote of £189 to replace both front discs/pads inc labour etc
Seems like a lot, what are you're thoughts?
Heard him on the phone and it sounded like the parts guy said it was...
Yeah you're probably fine! When did you renew out of interest?
It says £150, but when you add it an error comes up saying they want to know how you're going to use the car. Maybe it's so make sure you're not driving another car that you own thinking you're covered or something
May give them...
Seems they may have changed it to £150?
Anybody else fancy trying a quote to see what the option costs ;)
edit: when I choose it, it says there's been an error - so you're probably correct!
Yeah hopefully that's the case
Going through the quote again, but it was definitely a £149.99 option the first time round. Hopefully I typed something in wrong
Same thing again, not sure what the difference is
Policy upgrades
Legal expenses cover
£27.50
Windscreen cover
£12.95...
Just seen another thread, and bell seems to be recommended. When I got a quote though, they wanted £149.99 for anycar cover and not the £20/£30 others had been charged!
May try the quote again, although it's probably their new policy or something
edit: just seen the above, on flexibell its £150...
I'm looking at quotes for my 1.2 clio at the moment, cheapest are around £500
I'm 20, with 3 years ncb. Can anyone recommend any decent companies to try?
I've seen a couple of places who offer 3rd party cover on other cars, but can't remember which companies they were! I know one was about...
When I did mine I put a few layers of laquer on it over a few days and let it dry properly. has been fine now for a good few months - not wearing at all
What are you using it with, have you got a proper lance for a pressure washer?
The bilt hamber autofoam is meant to be great, but otherwise most of the detailing websites sell 5L of similar snow foam
something like this maybe...
not sure what they normally sell for, but that top one looks pretty awesome
still has bmw warranty, only 4k miles in 4ish years
and some pretty decent mods
Couple of days ago my auto lights didn't turn on, can't see how you turn it on/off!
Afaik it's always been on, and I don't have the handbook
Any ideas?
they had one on detailingworld, think they saved quite a bit. The postage was expensive so with them all getting delivered to one place it was much cheaper
the results look really good though
just sat in my car, remembered what I was going to ask!
Are both the front windows meant to be one touch?
Drivers side works fine, but passenger side you have to hold the switch - just wondering if this was normal or if I could do anythingabout it
Thanking you
yeah will try checking the tyre pressure, not sure what else it could be
definitely seeems too low though, as i've been intentionally driving economically and it hasn't reached 40 yet!
had a service when i picked it up ( 2 weeks ago ) although not sure how thorough that was
any other ideas?
yeah that's who im probably going to go with
was just wondering if there was anyone cheaper i could try! although i've probably already tried everyone else
gotta sort out my insurance renewal for my 1.2
best quote so far is with swiftcover at about £680
aged 19, with 2 years no claims + parents as named drivers
norwich union simple cover was similarly priced but does anyone know or use anyone else i could try? tried bell, elephant admiral etc...
