Rear discs will set you back £155 from Yozzssport. Discs are expensive due to having the bearing and abs ring.

i'd prolly say battery. Is it an aftermarket HU? If so, I managed to nuke my battery. Leaving the radio on without the car running, ie alternator not charging battery ruins it. Could be alternator thou. Check the battery terminals for corrosion and also its charge.

People normally use the bonnet release gromet (up behind the glove box), but I just driled through the bulk head, just behind the collant bottle, as used 4g cable.

If your talking about the spring at the front of the drivers side, infront of the engine, then this happened to me too. Had a mobile renualt specialist come do my cambelt, but he had never done one on a 172. Took most of the day with me helping him. Back to the problem, if this is what...
