It was a dealer option, and the first owner must have been tight as it has none. The car is under warranty from the garage I bought it, so I'll keep an eye on this noise, especially if it may be gearbox related.

On idle, I can hear a slight rattle (more evident when listening in the front o/s wheel arch than when looking under the bonnet) Sounds to me like a dry bearing on something spinning than say an exhaust heat shield rattle. Car is a 2006 on 56,000 miles. Any ideas?

I would have it checked as you have probably bent something, rather than just knocked the tracking out

This appears to be what they do they replace and recharge lubricant and refrigerant levels in line with your manufacturers recommendation. If they cannot improve the coolest vent temperature from your car by more than 10% when measured in degrees Celsius - then you pay nothing at all.

Yeah just the air-con, I handed it in to the dealer who 'serviced' it. Think it was about £30, but that was a few years ago. I'm not exactly sure what they done, but it cured the issue and was ice cold again.

I had mines serviced when it started to smell.
