I see you everyday on the a4103 from Worcester/Malvern way towards hereford, anytime around 7:45 ish am somewhere on the stretch of road, Racing blue 05 reg. Anyone?
I'm never in the 182 though(not until its sunny anyway)
p6000 are cheap and crap, however Pirelli p5000 drago were ace on my old Fiesta RST.
The Michelin PE2 on my 182 are good as people have said... My daily drive Laguna did have Michelin Pilot Hx on the front when i got it(great tyre), when they wore out i replaced these with Dunlop Sport 2000E...
In first it isnt good to launch alot, its to do with the bearings/shafts and the sudden nothing> full power they cant take it- was always told this when i had my Fiesta RST you had to have some sympathy with it.
My 182 doesnt feel as quick as my old FRST(160bhp) but in reality it was very...
When i bought my 182 i only got the service book and a handbook that covers the later clio campus(2006 on) Typical Renault dealers, anyway can someone take a picture of the outside of their main handbook/wallet/all the other leaflets please so i know what i need to get? Theres loads on ebay if...
Not sure about the early 8v alize, but after W reg they were all 16v(my mum bought one new) It has standard fit air con/ passenger airbag/electric windows/ manual mirrors though. NO foglights/normal headlights not projectors.
You get less sporty seats than the 'sport' models i assume as...
Well usually nationwide places are mass market/low quality/non specialist say it however - so as you said the normal public wouldnt care if the paint didnt match/panels didnt line up so they rush it out and dont take care so they repair as many cars as they can to make more money..
If i...
If your car is being repaired under insurance then you can specify your own bodyshop, nationwide crash repairs sounds like a cheap mainstream place that will rush it and do a rubbish job.. People think you have to use who they say, you dont.
If you know a bodyshop that will do a perfect job...
The 1.2 8v is a completely hopeless engine , anyone that says a 1.4 16v isn't much quicker is mad (my mums got a 1.4 16v clio alize) 98 bhp .. and still group 5 insurance.
the 1.2 8v is about 60 bhp.....
The 1.4 16v is a brilliant engine, really smooth and quiet and still would give 50mpg on...
If the car is a rare combination or really low miles or even just really clean like Rich's, then you can still get top money.. just most people say theirs is mint but in reality they are pretty poor so they dont get shifted.
I had to look at loads of 'mint' 182 until i bought a mint one 6...
A Civic type R would be worse than the 182 then, wrong gear and you dont move, but i bet people on the civic sites dont think a low spec civic with 70bhp! less you keep up with the Type R.
The 0-100 times are so much diffrerent (got to be 8-10 seconds!)you would have to be a moron to loose...
A full bumper respray at a top notch bodyshop will do it for about £150, best to take it off yourself and take it in(they can match it from the old paint) this is the best way if you want it properly repainted, so you dont get any different shade areas, or lines where they spray to.
On here...
Have you checked the tax on it? I was offered a 2001 v6 Initiale with low miles, cambelt done, xenons etc for very cheap but it was going to be £400 a year next year so i had to pass :-(
05 will (possibly)still have some welcome warranty left, so you can get all the probs sorted out... even if the 05 is more to buy you might have to spend money fixing the 04 yourself.
Also didn't 05 come as std with the newer climate sensor in the roof lining that doesnt rattle like the old...
Blue 197, private reg XCJ something, going out of hereford yesterday about 18.30, with the optional spoiler.
Also silver 02 reg 172 near Rotherwas Ind estate about 18:45..
Also Red 197 by the Asda. 57 reg.(this could have been wednesday) about 18:45 again.
The arches will be fine if you clean out the dirt with a hose and if they havent been repaired after an accident.
My mums clio is W reg, coming up to 8 years old now(had from new) and there isnt any rust at all on the arches, due to me cleaning them out once in a while/and its never been...
I probably shouldnt post here but i notice you mention Kendal, was that Kendal Renault/ kendal motor village?
Unless you know them can i advise you go elsewhere and buy the 197.
We havent long bought a car from there (nearly new but a rare spec) so i couldnt just go elsewhere or i would...
I'm not sure if this is the right section, and no one will probably reply but i've got a favour to ask!
Need a couple of small things from there, otherwise i'll have to drive up there myself and its a couple of hundred miles!
Thanks alot
Mark.
What a load of rubbish, especially on newer cars of the last 10 years or so.
A 1998 fiesta 1.25 16v or clio 1.4 16v(2000) shape will go on for well over 100k if you just service it right.. Its only really the old naff engines like fords 1.1/1.3 hcs (40 years old design)that used to be rough...
Orange is ace, i've got an Inferno FF, also work in Malvern and live in Hereford...
looks abit like a baked bean on dull days but in the sun its great, gold/yellow flake really comes out.
Orange is far rarer too than the common blue/black ;-)
My mum has a W plate 1.4 16v (98bhp)so the shape yours was face lifted from but same engine i assume, i used to use it all the time and on a run i would get high 40's, probably near 50 if i drove really smooth. I used to get more than 100 miles to a tenner.
Havent used my 182 much yet but...
I've not long bought a 182, and i probably paid too much but 'usually' you get what you pay for.. mine is a FF 55plate, inferno and under 6k miles. So you dont get these every day.. exactly what i wanted.
i'm really fussy with cars and it has to be perfect like new, so by the time i've...
How longs a piece of string.. depends on servicing, how its been driven, you might be unlucky and get an internal failure that you cant do anything about..
Nothing wrong with modern engines, my daily hack 16v laguna is on 105k now, 15k in the last year with no bills at all.. a mate here has...
