If a car is in someone elses name and registered at their address, can i insure it using my details - using my ncb etc, id be using it and keeping it at my address all the time. Is this possible?
cheers peeps.:D
If you find a truely mint williams, snap it up - they are nearly all crap(well in my book as im a perfectionist) i looked at about 10 williams 3 last year and not one was as good as my old H plate Fiesta RS turbo it would be replacing.
Looked at all price ranges, most expensive was 7grand, 39k...
umm if the rolling road seized then the car would have aggresively tried to get out the rollers surely ??
Sounds like the engine was just being revved far to hard and thats why it went. - As said its only meant to go to 6500 any higher and its being seriously damaged, so 7.5 for a while would...

Same pic, different writing..same songs..
Got this in about 1994 when my mum was looking for a clio, didnt buy a williams though grr lol
The gauge on the dash measures water temp, useless really.. Oil takes about 10 miles to be properly warm, 15miles on a really cold day. 80 degrees C is what you want.
I Changed the oil in Louises 1.2 16v after about 9k miles it was mank, super black, and that is mainly long runs, with short runs it would be far worse.
Fiver for the filter and 15ish from renualt for the oil. 10w40, no probs using that.
18k is far far too long as said :D
Renault recommend 10w40 for the 1.2 16v, renault dealers used to supply elf 10w40 semi synthetic, now they supply some other stuff, motrio or something, still 10w40 for the 1.2. Any 10w40 semi/fully syn will be ok really.
Coolant just use renault stuff.
You should change gear where the max power is reached, prob about 5.5k - 6k i imagine in yours(1.2 16v), any higher and you are just slowing down, cant you hear the poor thing screaming for you to change;) - and it takes about 10 miles for the oil to be properly warm, even longer on a really...
The limiters are right in the red zone, they just dont put the red on the rev counter.
The engine will have a max constant engine speed, and max intermittant speed, the limiter cuts in after these speeds. Keep hitting it and youll do some nice damage;)
Used to race em aswell lol :D
Rememeber to paint the clear lexan shell on the inside, wash it inside first to get any grease off so the paint will stick.
You can get special lexan paint that is better to use than normal car paint as it sticks better and wont flake off when you crash it into...
Polishes like Autoglym super resin are quite harsh and will bring the colour out lovely, and will be shiney, but in direct sun you will see swirls, you need to use a less abrasive polish, autoglym gloss protection is good, or turtle wax colour magic/max wax leave a pukka shine with less swirls...
You should check coolant when the engine is stone cold.. it should be on the MAX line when cold and rise roughly 1cm above the max when hot. Use renault stuff as you know its correct.
Havent really read all the prev posts...but as far as im aware, the gold bit should continue upto the tyre after the diamond cut silver rim, - Leigh bought some new ones from renault and his were like this.
lol park an RS next to a normal one and see the difference, they look amazing, great colour - imperial blue, handling is amazing, brakes from 100mph to 0 in 4 seconds. Has An anti lift system at the back as the front brakes are so good.
100mph takes 15 seconds or thereabouts i believe.
Get...
I know you need special keys to get the radio out, are they the same as you need for a ford? like U shape bits of metal...
If not can i buy them from halfords ?
And also do i need to buy an adaptor wire aswell to use a Kenwood cd player (only temp as as im borrowing me mums car and cant...
Mk1 front, Mk2 back - you can tell a mk1 172 straight away, slits under lights etc, mk2 looks more normal.
Most colours seem rare on the mk1 172, all i see is silver ones, the odd blue one, and only ever seen one red/black and yellow one :o
Even with the colour code it wont match every car as they have different shades of the same colour.
You will probabaly have to go to a (decent) bodyshop, they will be able to match the colour exactly and get the paint made up for spraying the bumper.
You can have as many insurance policies as you like, but only use your ncb on one of them.
Louise will have the Williams insured - 3yrs ncb, and the 1.2 insured with another 2 yrs ncb built up from another previous car ) or use the 1yrs from renaults free insurance.
I dont know why you...
If you have seperate NCB from a policy before, and then have free insurance on a car you cant add them together when the free ins runs out, my mate was caught out like this. You will only have two max.
Just wondered if anyone has got/ever seen/know of any mint williams 3??
Ive looked at 9 now lol from £4500-£7000, 39k miles - 62k miles. All of them have been either rusty as feck, dented, scratched badly, awful resprays. corroded wheels (not too worried about this as can get them done ) Most...
Stay below 3k revs until 80 degrees. 70 is ok though if you are impatient. Thrashing from cold is the worst thing you can possibly do lol as said change oil every 3-5k. Glad to see other people looking after theirs cars properly
sorry to butt in, but if i want to sorn my car do i just cross the red box on the remidner they send me for taxing it, then sign it and take it to the post office or what ?? never had to do it before. Cheers.:D
This is Louise posting....
I pay £700 fully comp on my Williams 2 through Diamond.co.uk. 21 yrs old, 3 yr no claims, mods declared (exhaust / filter) with Mark on the policy, and hes not quite 21 yet. Cheapest online quote I got was direct line, with me only, and as standard. Was £630.
£1300 seems alot matey, im on the look out still for a mint willy 3 and got £992 FC for me (21, 2yrs ncb) from confused.com as someone suggested. That was using elephant. Have you tried them ? I will have 3 yrs ncb soon and direct line wanted £1100 FC. Havent tried ringing around yet, but sure...
Yeah i went to see this one, loads of scratches/dings, no 3 badge on boot, obv been sprayed. Bit of rust inside the boot, bonnet was a bit patchy, dodgy spray job?. No rust on arches though, and drove spot on, and had been serviced perfect.
Ive looked at 6 willy 3s, getting tired of looking...
