Sounds like a good deal but be aware that they will just want it off the forecourt now so these paint repairs and wheel refurbs will be a rush job by the mobile painter that comes round to all the dealers and probably wont be the best job in the world.
Check the work done before you take it...
Why is it risky, all the probs should have been sorted out really, but 3 years old is hardly old? my daily car (46 miles a day)is a W plate laguna its done 14k in the last year and been perfect. Just a service and new pads.
One of the blokes here at work has a 56 plate 335i coupe bmw and...
07702206186 - Tracy Denham(male!) from dent devils, (number from 2006 so you'll have to try if its still in use) Top quality work based in Essex.
Hope this helps.
If you really want the V6 then why dont you run round in a cheaper normal car (but not crap) and use the money you save on a v6... ;)I wouldnt spend 6k on a higher mileage car (90k like you said) even a bmw as id rather buy something not as 'good' for everyday and have the better car for the...
I have the play in the steering so am changing the column, everything is off/loose but i cant get the column out.. Its all completely loose (2 main bolts/2 nuts, all the stalks/steering wheel is off, the nut is off the joint where it goes on the rack,(do i have to take the bolt out?) i've...
Everyone that moans on this site must pull their cars to pieces or just buy knackers or something, yeah renaults arent the best in build quailty but they arent as bad as people seem to say.. Our williams isnt built aswell as newer cars but it is 11 years old and who sits looking at the dashboard...
Nothing wrong in storing the car you want to keep mint, no matter what it is.. i dont care what people think and theres so many bad drivers about..
We store our mint williams 3 over the winter and then use it in the summer... If we used it every day the chances are it would have been written...
People will always want low miles examples of the sporty versions, its just a shame hardly anyone is able to look after a car properly... if to maintain its value if nothing else. A mint car is always worth sometimes a few K more than an average example.
I had a low miles mint Fiesta RS...
This often annoys me on this forum and many other ones i go on lol especially when people go on about french crap etc etc, they are no worse for alot of people than other makes.
I've been driving 8 years and had 7 ish cars(two at a time at some point) 3 were old RS Fords, ( 2 x rs turbo, 1...
Petrol blue looks mouldy/dark green/dirty until you see it in real life. It really doesnt photograph at all. It looks amazing up close, such a great colour - goldy/green/blue flip.
For solid colours the trophy red is lovely for people like me that love polishing, Liquid yellow is good, and...
The trouble is you dont know if you are buying an abused car or not if its second hand, so you take your chance. Alot of people i know drive like dickheads and i'd never buy a car off them. These are the ones that have 4 gearboxes and tyres every 5k miles. You just dont get that from 'normal'...
172/182 are 36k are they not for the cambelt? its the only the 'normal' clio's that are 72k.
Check for sure though in the service book it'll tell you for sure. 02 reg cars need one now anyway as they are coming up for the 5 years even if they have only done 20k.
My mums year 2000 W reg 1.4 alize is on the original exhaust (we bought it new so i know it is) done 69k and its never been touched, the middle section is like new almost, the rearbox is a little rusty in places but no blows yet.
Its always been kept out side and driven in all weathers too.
i was talking about later 1.6 zetec escorts, about 11 secs to 60 if we're getting all geeky, the clio is something like 13.5 (and i rememeber renault put in small type in the brochure with 15" wheels they are even slower) so being generous thats the difference between a 1.6 clio and the 172...
Na i just don't like going slow everywhere :-P
I like to be able to drive about and not worry about revving the nuts off em all the time, the 1.4 would do hills easy and the 1.2 didnt, loads of steep hills round here so it pissed me off alot. 5th, 4th, 3rd, and still being overtaken by...
Defo get the 1.4 at least, the 1.2 is like walking especially a dynamique with the 15" wheels. My mums 1.4 16v alize was great, max torque right in the middle of the revs 3700 ish.
Driven two 1.2 dynamiques and they were painful, especially up hills. Mileage is nothing on the engine(saw a 1.4...
Different engine, you've got the 1.4 16v engine in your Alize, 'S' owners only have the 1.4 8v i believe.
The alize 1.4 produces its max torque just before 4k so it will feel more punchy around here. :-)
W plate clio - Going to take the drums apart to check/clean them, any advise, and what do i check for the handbrake working correctly, releasing properly etc.. i saw about adjusting it in another thread.
Sometimes the drums are abit sticky so i got to have a look. Done brakes before but not...
Need some help guys..
Whenever i put the handbrake on (W plate clio ) - rear drums. it gets stuck after i have left it for a little while.....
i dont just mean when its just slightly stuck after being left for a while like you sometimes get
its fully on and it makes you look like you...
Our W plate (owned from new) 1.4 16v has done 58500 miles and still on the original exhaust and its hardly even rusty, its never been garaged and driven everyday. :D
Re the original post, two oil changes at 50 odd k thats not really enough( i know renault say 18k between ) but if you want it...
Cant have done double.. its 72k or 5(maybe 6) years whatever is first.. unless you have done 144k :-o but as said its best to get it done before the interval.. dont trust what manufacturers say.. i mean renault say 18k between oil changes.. thats just wrong and far too long.
:)
16v engines were put in the mainstream normal clio models from W plate, my mums W plate alize is 1.4 16v.
You've prob got more speed than normal but i've driven a 1.2 16v(std) and its terrible compared to the 1.4 16v.. (but the 1.2 did have 15's and the 1.4 has 14's so helps with acceleration)
My friend had a st220 up until recently - you really need to get a later one to get the 6 speed box as its much better than the old 5, and the interior is further improved. These may be more than 10k but you can look.
They sound fantastic, second gear rolling burnouts (esp off) much fun ;)...
have you been to see it ? what was it like ?
The plate doesnt come up on the rac checker.. not sure why.
Any pics of this 12k mile R5, didnt think there were any left that werent full of rust holes and knackered.
Dent devils is one of the best out there, if you are in the essex area call them up and ask to use Tracey(is a bloke) you wont even know a dent was there.
Today about 7pm ish, by the bp roundabout, 05 i think, i saw one here the other day too, probably the same one, never seen it before so you must have just bought it. :)
Dont use the paint restorer as a normal polish its really abrasive and will make it worse, its only for small bad areas like burnt on bird crap.
It only sounds like you have surface swirls that most cars get that are washed with a dirty sponge etc. All you need is a bottle of autoglym super...
