I started off with bangers and im glad i did ive just got a 172 at 23 years old and i love it but.. I think if it had been my first car i would have been banned/trashed and i would be driving a matiz now but thats just me maybe you have more self control btw ive noticed since getting the 172...

Ive had a few cars and ive also got a classic (proper!!!) mini, The clio seems to be the only thing nearly close to how everyone seems to like them no matter what age/sex they are etc Danny

My 172 doesnt have ESP then as ive only got the adjuster for the dash lights :( Was this an option then? Danny

Would explain it then as its a import on a 02 reg (Renault alarm and locking wheel nuts though) So ill assume it doesnt have light level thinghy :) If it has traction control is there a button to switch it of, Traction only really a problem in the wet anyway just curios Danny

Does the mk2 172 have traction control? Also the lights shine to far down on the road making it difficult to see whats coming up on country roads (without main beam on) but i dont have the switch to adjust the light level all i have on that panel is a one to adjust brightness for clocks :( Any...

I had 17s on my last car bought them for looks, after i got fed up of catching the arches and the state of our roads i put some 15s on and was suprised how much nicer the car drove and handled. Danny

Just read that you dont have to take your car to a Renault Dealer which is good as the ones i have dealt with have been bad, Does anyone know of any specialists who will carry out warranty work, Im in West Yorks but dont mind travelling down M1 or over North West way :) Thanks for any help :)

ak_uk what did the cluncking noise sound like, mines making a right racket when cornering one way hard :( Danny

Ive got rainsports on mine, its the first quick car ive owned and ive only had it a week, But i also noticed there seemed to be a lot of flex in the tyre, Mine were set at 30psi all round, what would you recommend? It seems a little tail happy but ive not given it too much Yet ;) Danny

I didnt mean the tryre was flat, but its that sort of noise, sounds like the ABS kicking in or the tyre trying to pull itself from the rim :( Danny
