I have phoned the help desk because I am only recieving 130kbps on my broadband line. My area can only get 1.5mbps, which still isnt great!
Upstream I can manage 300kbps so does anyone know what the fault might be?
Is the BT exchange (bristol bath area) having big probs?
It has been between...
My Mac is quad core, it performs superbly at everything especially handling large files with heavy going multiple applications open.
My powerbook is 1ghz single and is fine for all stuff on the web and for Photoshop CS, even after effects.
No actual grit :) the sound 'sounds' like grit trapped in the mechanism.
I thought 'hmm there must be some grit in that there window, next time it got wound up 'BANG'
Even if this isnt the problem with your car anyone doing a search on here... if it sounds like grit is trapped it's the wound...
Does it sound like grit? If so try not to use the window untill you can get the prob sorted out.
I dont want to alarm you, it's probably something simple but seeing as they are going to sort it out anyway, if it is the regulator you dont want to get to work and end up with a window that won't...
Annoyed you should be but it could be worse man. At least they owned up.
Some guy on CS took his car in and they hack sawed the old light washer (the old one was leaking) on the front and scratched the bumper and light then told him the damage was done in the carpark and thurs was out of their...
Not really bothered what the clutch is called dude.. I'll admit I know nothing about these cars, I dont even know if it has a clutch pedal, I'm just calling it how I hear it.
I could hear that it is an auto box of some sort as it is litterally 'slipping' into into gear like an 80's volvo in...
Either is some sort of naff auto / semi or he's rubbish at changing gear.
If it is
What's is the fascination with crap auto boxes in cars these days? I don't care for cars that have flappy paddle or some crumby snicksnack semi auto shift stick, it hasn't got a proper gear box.
Apart from that...
I had a vic 20 which set fire to my parents living room carpet, before this I had a ZX81 with the memory expansion and a few really simple games on tape, most didnt even have any sound.
Does anyone remember the Dragon 32?
Re: WTF "appreciation" thread
Well the way I look at it is this; the barry is creating something that looks utterly crap but isn't really doing anyone much harm, where as some of the users of that site specifically go out of their way to wind the owners up.
The website is just an avenue for...
Re: WTF "appreciation" thread
That Barryboys website is usually quite entertaining but after actually taking the time to read a few posts in the past one thing becomes quite apparent, it's like the keyboard warriors HQ rather than an enthusiasts forum.
Tax has no baring on rarity >2001 engine size or 2001> emissions.
I think 12 months was £170 on my 2001 plate last year.
Insurance usually take into account cost of repair and current market value (unless you have an independant insurance valuation) the values of the RSi are really not much...
Agree,
The GSi is a superb hatch, it was the cool car to have when I was in my late teens, back then you were lucky if you could afford the sri, like you say they can now be picked up for a song.
Well P21s is a 'semi descent' wax in terms of looks and you are luck if it lasts 2-3 on a car that sits out in all weathers.
I can leave ours out in all weathers with no washing and it beads in the rain. Having had a right mix of weather, windy / dusty / hot and torrential rain, it still looks...
I heart the 476s.
I haven't been able to attack the runabout for weeeeks and it's still beading now.
Some people complain that it smells chemically, I think it smells like car wax should smell ie not sickly sweet.
there was a privately owned lorry I saw once with one of those LED scrolling message things in the front window that said "the only thing I leave behind is tyre tracks and broken hearts"....... and hitch hikers heads hahahaha.
I worked for a grain haulage company in my yoof, the fleet was made...
Re: WTF "appreciation" thread
Remember with 'some' of these cars they are 'art' cars which is more of a projection of their owners eccentric nature in other words owned or built by people who don't take themselves too seriously for a laugh, the F40 is probably that type.
Re: WTF "appreciation" thread
350z's are quite nice cars, way to f**k one up.
The F1 copy though is perhaps one of the most hideous replicas I have ever seen.
I wouldn't bother about the running costs so long as I could afford it, some kids one here pay more in one years insurance for a 1.2 clio than I spend on the full running costs (tax, mot, servicing fuel and petrol) for a whole year on our car. Some people think spending over £130 on road tax is...
I'd saved enough for a Vee, the plan was to buy one of these on my 30th
Unfortunately the funds have totally been reserved for more important things now, I'm sure I'm not the only person in this position at the mo to be holding back / missing out on purchases of this nature. The Vee is an...
Thats what I said. I would say this is the cause of the problem.
The wire arrangement you mention is probably the switch around between permanent live feed and switched. (ie you have to press power to shut down the stereo or turning ignition fully off shuts it down)
The only time the stereo has anything to do with the lights is when the display is dipped when the lights are switched on. The pins in the connectors need to align with whatever comes out from the stereo end.
Maybe the wire which controls this function is interfering some how.
Technically the...
You really want one with the cambelt done.
And this is why I kept all the receipts / invoices for mine and whacked them in the envelope for the new guy. Stamps are fine but it doesn't really tell you much about what was done on the service.
Some owners are daft enough to think "it's just been...
If you were planning on selling the car and it's worth more than a couple of grand then yes spending £300 on a detail right before the sale is worth it
, if you plan on keeping the car, like it's been said, it's not if you dont have the time to give the car some attention.
I use 476s also and i...
