right, just wondering if anyone else who has done the 440 turbo conversion into there clio. also changed the fuel pump for the volvo pump? or fitted an uprated pump?
looking to fit an oil cooler to the turbo, can anyone tell me what size thread the oil filter has?? need to know before i order the kit. its a volvo 440 turbo engine, but its a renault block.
im having trouble keeping the temp down in the turbo beast, around town. im using the rsi rad on it at the moment, its def seen better days. as im looking at having to buy a new one anyway. does anyone know if the 16v or the williams rads are bigger in size?? if they are, i'll fit one of them...
ive just finishd making a custom mount that bolts onto the block behind the alternater instead of bolting onto the head, cuz i kept snapping it when i put me foot down. also made it out of 1/4'' steal, so should strong enough. lol.
get yourself a haynes manual for the volvo 440 turbo and the clio rsi, layout both engine wiring diagrams next to each other, and compare, this is all i did, works fine (as long as you know how to read em').
right me 'j' reg valver that ive been using as a run around while ive been building up my turbo has a problem. when ive been driving it hard, engine oil p*ssess out the the k&n air filter and goes everywhere and stinks! know the engine does burn oil very slightly anyway, so what im wondering is...

ive lost count of how much its cost, its taken loads of time and effort tho! i'd never do it again. but looking at it now, it all seems worth it.
cheers. the main problem i had was the power of the engine, ripped the top engine mount out of the head the first time i took it out!! so i got it tig welded to the head all the way round, seems ok now.
well about 170bhp has been predicted by the guy from a volvo forum, who reprogrammed my ecu. its gunna be tested march at amd.
heres the spec so far;
*1996 renault clio rsi, phase 2
*16 valve bonnet
*tinted windows
*modified front bumper to incorperate front mounted intercooler...
djw dave: you alright mate, spoke to you on the volvo fourom the other day about intercoolers - i posted a pic of mine up because you were finding out what ppl used.
