chuff me only had the 182 two weeks and hey presto first problem,i was getting onto the motorway earlier went to accelerate and there was nothing as though it was fuel starvation then it took off then started to die again managed to get off the motorway and a warning light came on at the bottom...
thanks for the replys,basically its a bit worn you cant see 1st and nearly 2nd gear on the top just thought ide replace the whole gear knob,not too sure now though,can you just replace the silver cap thats shows the gears.
just a quickie,how do get the gear knob off my 182 is it screwed on or carn,t you remove them ive tried un screwing it and its friggin solid.

thats what i thought fubur,thing is when i put my ear actually on the engine say from the pulley side you get to roughly the middle renaultsport logo on the intake manifold and it becomes very much more noticable.
anyone any idea on this one its defo coming from inside the top end of the engine,it started while i was just stood still in traffic and is more noticable when the car is revved or actually moving,its like a cam belt whine thats to tight but its not the belts or pulleys like i say its in the...
not much difference i know,but thinking about chopping my phase1 172 for a 172cup its a y reg 2001 32,000 miles on the clock oydesey blue but no service history although it is up to date on services,basically do you think,say if i took 2 grand plus my car i'de pick one up.
just been qouted £325 for both of these changing on my phase1 172,is this a fair price its not a dealer just a renault specialist,if not what would you call a good price.
looks mint matey wish mine was silver somtimes instead of oydessy blue mind them silver 2.0 side strips are better by miles but still prefer mi ol phase 1.
any ideas,started the other day its a noise like interferance through the radio a whizzing sort of noise when i rev the car it gets louder but now its noticable on tickover any ideas,the cars a phase1 172.
