182 gear knob

just a quickie,how do get the gear knob off my 182 is it screwed on or carn,t you remove them ive tried un screwing it and its friggin solid.

believe it's glued on ....might need to cut it off

no it's not screwed on, it's glued. If you use mole grips you can force it off but be sure to hold the gear lever firm so as not to put undue force on it.

thanks for the replys,basically its a bit worn you cant see 1st and nearly 2nd gear on the top just thought ide replace the whole gear knob,not too sure now though,can you just replace the silver cap thats shows the gears.

Yeah you can just replace the insert on top of the gear knob , if you can find one .
