Hope you enjoyed the little blast tonight mate!
Still a few bits to go on it to make it a good complete car though :(
Let us know when the next clio meet is if you goto them and Ill bring it along to that :)
Only 15s....
Just so you can guage things, the car (from the back) on the left is an RT on 16s not lowered, in the middle is a lowered valver on 16s, then obviousally me.
When I moded the car (I did it all about 2 years+ ago, and its stayed as it is for ages now!) everybody said only put...

And on the left in this...
But just thinking on the negative side, one of the last cars Id want to have a crash in is a R5GTT!
It really depends what you want more from your car, grin factor, or reliability and a bit better build quality...

Ive got a Clio (all be it not a 16v) and a GT Turbo. However I have driven a few valvers....
Id say everybody has to own an R5GTT at least once in their life! Driving one is so much fun! My mate has laid his scooby up for a bit after his gearbox went and now drives GTT, and he doesnt miss the...
Im going in my mates Scoob, setting off at 7am!! Ill be wearing my Cliosport T-Shirt, and most likely have a bottle of Stella in my hand!
There are a lot of quick FWD cars, I know today at the Pod at a Ford meet, Tim Butch ran 13.5 in his RST.... it is a tad powerful though!
Tim
I have 15s with 195/45, lowered 55mm at front and a lot (60mm at least I think) at back. It did rub a little at first, but things wear down! And I can have 5 people in....
Tim
You have to be involved in the motor trade really. A lot of people just say they buy and sell to apply for one, but companies are getting wise to this and are asking to see logbooks etc.....
So just say your something like a mobile valeters, there is a stipulation in the policy Ive looked at...
I read somewhere (it was in a Ford mag) about what actually makes your car a Q-Plate...
It gave a list of about 6 things all with points next to them, and as long as your car didnt exceed a set number of points your car would not be put on a Q-Plate. Some of the things included Engine (has...
And for smile on face factor get a GTT conversion! Im driving a GT Turbo at the minute (the mighty red shed) with the intent of taking having the transplant done to my Clio. If you have a 2 stage boost controller then the GT Turbo even wins on economy as you can set your lower boost at something...
Sometimes they can pull you up there and then, other times (like the lad I used to work on a van with) they post it. He was in a rental van too, still found its way to him!
But to be honest if you were doing 35 on your speedo, in reality you will of been doing 31/32ish, which if you then add...
Do not underestimate the VX220! Had a quality race with one yesterday in my mates 285bhp scoob along a load of twisty B roads. Admitedally we didnt know the roads, and he obvoiusally did, but it kept up none the less! Bloody surprised me!
Tim
To be honest I wouldnt believe anything about these cars yet. They are still a long way off and Im sure nothing can be certain yet...... apart from it will be expensive! LOL
Oh and I WILL want one!
Tim
Im inclined to think its not the connections, as its only ever happened on hot starts. However next time Im with the car (its away at the minute....) I will check the connections!
Cheers, Tim
I used to get that on mine.... until the tyre wore the lip of the arch into a suitable shape! Now I can have a full load and hit as many bumps as I like! The only scraping noise Im gonna get is the bottom of my bumper on the road, but I need heavy people in for that! LOL
Tim
Mine does this (Mk1 Ph3) when I start it up its fine, but if I drive somewhere, then say stop at some traffic lights, it is a lumpy idle, but if I give it a little squirt on the accelerator then let it come back to idle its fine. Any ideas what that could be?
Tim
I dont really even want big wheels on (would like to keep my 15s) but I dont think Id feel safe with big power and 1.2 brakes LOL.
Id love to learn how to do a lot of the work myself, but Im just pathetic at cars, and dont have time patence to learn...
