Is it definitely the pre cat and not the post cat that has had the wires cut because that's the one that gives the ecu all the information on fueling etc the post cat is only there to turn on the eml light I would imagine if the pre cat is not in the loop it would run like s**t and do about 15mpg?
i tried to remove one of my rear calipers today but I was stopped by the 2 bolts on the back of the caliper, I had been led to believe they should be a 17mm head but they seem to have a 5 sided head that none of my sockets or spanners will go on is this normal? If so how the hell do you get them...
I had brake issues on the mot with my cup it failed for having 0kg on one side on the rear a new compensator valve and caliper sorted it and it passed with 50kg both sides on the rear
I did my cts a little while ago if you have the new sensor ready to screw in then you shouldn't lose much at all I lost maybe a couple of tablespoons full the cloth I had under it was hardly even wet I didn't even have to top it up
I'm on spax rsx and I can't compare to b14s as I've never driven a clio on them but the rsx do drive nicely and are pretty stiff although I havnt got on track yet they feel like they would be good there aswell full coilover rear aswell instead of the seperate spring and damper b14s will prob be...
I have the exact same fault on my 172 cup below 2000rpm if you accelerate it will hesitate and stutter I've tried a lambda but it's still the same so I'm thinking injector as its recently had plugs and leads and the coil looks ok unfortunately it's going to have to wait for a bit as I've got tax...
I think the garage moved the arm up to test it hence one side getting 80kg which is quite good for the back brakes on a cup but the other side getting 0 I guess means there is no fluid getting to the caliper on that side
The usual mot fail for rear brakes but to be fair to the garage they showed me the brake test report and one rear brake was 80kg of effort and the other was 0kg they have stripped and greased the caliper etc but still no good so they say it needs a compensator
Firstly I know this has been done to death and I have searched and read all the threads but my cup failed today on rear brakes I havnt seen the fail sheet yet but on the phone it was mentioned about low effort (expected) and imbalance.
I did give them the vosa notice before the test but it's...
The offbeat noise you describe as being a bit like a 5cyl is pure induction noise and has nothing to do with the exhaust a good induction kit will make the car sound like that even with a standard exhaust Imo the clio sounds best with a standard exhaust and an induction kit all most systems do...
I've got the ktec super quiet stealth on mine and it is nice and quiet pretty much what I imagine a standard one is like really the exhaust also seems well made and fits well
I hope so because that will be an easy fix I've replaced one but that still leaves 3 others also the one I did do have a much worse misfire than I've got now
Car 172 cup:
emissions light is on and car is not idling brilliantly you can hear little pops from the exhaust when driving it is perfect above 2k rpm but a bit jerky below it recently it has had a new cts/plugs/leads/cat/and today I fitted a brand new pre cat lambda but still the same (I only...
Hi guys when driving home tonight the light at the bottom right of the binnacle came on (Orange shaped like an engine) is this the emissions light? I've got a suspected failed pre cat lambda as the car idles badly and smells of petrol and is a bit judderey at low revs I have got a new lambda to...
I've been driving around this for a while now but the 172 has got a hesitation but only if you accelerate when the revs are between 1500-2000 it never hesitates or misses over 2000rpm so I don't think its the usual suspects like coil plugs leads injectors etc because that would cause a misfire...
I've got a ktec stealth and it is totally hidden by the bumper when it's fitted you need to make sure the exhaust is held up as high as it will go before any of the clamps are tightened and it should stay up in the exhaust tunnel out of sight
Hi all I've had a fault appear recently on the cup so I thought I would see if anybody has had the same problem so I can get it sorted.
Basically the car runs perfectly but has developed a hesitation it only happens at low engine speed the most common occorance is if you let the car coast down...
