Does the knocking increase/decrease as you are slowing on the brakes? I had a rear end knock when braking and it was one of the rear calipers partially seized so it wasn't applying even braking pressure on the disk causing it to knock, since I have removed and freed off the calipers it has been fine
It's a bit confusing the whole hubcentric thing because some 5mm spacers claim to be hubcentric like these http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=161489584422
And others that are much cheaper don't claim to be like these...
It's a road car but will do a few trackdays in just trying to work out what spacers I'll need as hubcentric ones are expensive but I don't want to run the risk of normal ones as I've heard horror stories about normal ones causing wheels to come off under hard cornering
car is 172 cup I fitted my track wheels today and the tyres are rubbing on the coilover springs on the rear and close to touching on the front it's because the wheels are only a et42 offset so sit further in than the cup turinis the obvious answer is to get some 5mm spacers which I will do on...
i was hoping someone in the know on these things could educate me on the gearbox diff circlip situation from what I know some boxes have a circip that can pop out and others have a bolt in plate is there any way of knowing without looking which one my car a 53 reg 172 cup would have and if it...
ive just removed and refitted the front coilovers on my cup could this cause the tracking to go out? The track rods havnt been touched I just undone the 2 bolts holding the shock to the hub and the 3 bolts through the top mount (pms solid ones) and removed the whole coilover complete but after...
Ah well I've not got anything to lose really they were sized solid so it was either lubricate or replace so if the oil makes the bearing fail I'm not really any worse off than I was before
Ok so I've cleaned up the top mounts and freed off the bearings with some wd40 and they now seem good as new tbf so ill refit and put some foray grease in from the top of the bearing and they should be ok for a bit I guess the answer is to treat them like a serviceable component and not fit and...
as title I've removed the top mounts from the car today and the bearings are seized quite solid they were only fitted late 2012 £25 each for new bearings should I have to pay £50 every 2years to keep these good? Or have I been unlucky
I was about to order my soft ns2r from tyre leader last night but when I went on they had vanished despite showing as in stock the day before so it sounds like they may be having issues getting stock or something

I can see one is xl and one is Mfs but is there any reason why you wouldn't buy the one that is £10 cheaper as they are pretty much the same tyre?
Mine was doing this I think it was the caliper sticking causing uneven braking pressure on the rear disc I removed the caliper greased the sliders and freed everything off and it seems to have stopped it
£212 is very good the best I can see for the 120 compound is £65 a tyre but I will keep a look out, I will be using them as a track only tyre so they won't see the road at all so I guess soft would be worth a go just making sure I didn't do long stints on them
I'm keen to try the ns2r I've heard good things from people who know much more about tyres than me, I've also heard the rsr isn't as good as it used to be due to a change in compound/construction of something.
I'm trying to choose between the soft and medium ns2r for my track tyres anyone know if there is much difference? I'm guessing the soft are slightly grippier but wear quicker and the meds are slightly harder wearing with a bit less grip is that about right?
I hope it's not the driveshaft on mine I could do without anymore big bills at the moment but thanks for the input did they say what part of the driveshaft had failed to cause the noise?
recently when turning the steering I'm getting a bong noise when in nearly full lock it only does it when the car is moving I've tried going lock to lock when stationary and it doesn't do it sounds similar to when I had a snapped spring on a Saxo but I've jacked it up and checked and I can see...
