Im gonna ignore all the 5GTT vs. F7 engine nonsense - apart from to say that theres no substitute for capacity, as Ben so eloquently put it, an extra 400cc and 8 valves makes a big difference if its turbocharged the same.
The thing Im more interested in is why you would want a turbocharged...
Its Doncaster racecourse. Donnington is Monsters of Rock, if thats still going. If you cant PM me you can always email its mailto:nick@cliosport.net">nick@cliosport.net and I check it every day.
The books are now closed on this one, I have the full house of 15 Clios, the names I have at the...
I put dynamat in my front doors and over the rear floor, under the rear bench and boot floor in other words, plus a bit on the rear arches. Seemed a lot better with it dynamatted. Especially good in the front doors
Well in fact torque is what is actually measured by any rolling road. Power is calculated from the raw torque figures. As Matty says, the only value in a rolling road run is in comparing a batch of similar cars with different mods, eg on a club shootout day. Getting an absolute figure is a shot...
LOL quality, full marks for effort I say. Only one slight problem - starting bid of 6 grand WTF? Whoever it is doesnt quite understand how an auction works hence no bids registered yet!
Similar to that Dimma Willy that was on there last week except in that case the starting bid was right but...
Well IMHO you need a different direction with an RSi. With those tough little factory 14s you need to go Euro style. Forget air filters, you wanna slam it into the weeds and roll the arches to accomodate a big drop! Then smooth off all the handles, locks, aerial, wipers etc and it will look...
Gavsy what day of the month are you meeting up at that pub on the Acle straight? My Clios not back on the road again but once it is I quite fancy an area meet or something.
Thats not bad considering my local dealership in Lowestoft have one in the showroom for 15 grand odd, although that is with the Cup suspension and spoiler pack, but whos going to get one without them anyway?
LOL but how accurate is the valver oil temp clock Ben! :)I can only recommend what Ive used and I know it works, my valvers engine has had a hard life and every time its been opened up it has been in A1 condition. Apart from when I busted those 4 pistons that is; it looked a bit untidy then. But...
One to check out next time you lot all get your Willies together, Im pretty sure that the phase 1 Willy had the same spoiler as the valver, just colour coded. The Willy 2 and 3 had a slightly deeper spoiler which later appeared on the 1.4 Maxim I think.
Sorry this is in the wrong forum but I need to get all members attention. We have an allocation of 15 spaces for the Donny show 2004, the biggest and best UK car show, and always the first of the year, in about 6 weeks time. I have a preliminary list of people who want to come but if I dont get...
I had Eagle F1s for a couple of years, fine in the dry, superb in the wet, aquaplaning just didnt exist, and they wore well. Then had some Toyos on a deal, they looked nice and were alright in the dry (I didnt think as good as the Eagles though) and ok in the wet for a couple of months. As soon...
LOL @ stop dreaming on price, thats a classic. Ive got to say, those dracula teeth on the front take the biscuit for me. OK the exhaust is big but then again on a turbo car, the less back pressure the better, so I think this is justified, even if that is the ONLY thing that can be justified...
UK road legal harnesses will be E-marked and have a normal seatbelt style press release buckle. The background to this, as Dogmaul says, is that you should be able to release it one handed. The turnbuckle style that you find on the full house harness sets are not road legal because when you pull...
Excellent work my man. I did have something like this a couple of years ago first going to a K&N induction kit, then to the factory airbox with a K&N element, then finally to a BMC CDA. Always worked a treat and never had any water ingress problems. The only thing was that even though I used a...
Stop me if Im wrong but arent both kits made by Hi-Spec and rebranded? Lots of tuning companies do the same thing with all their parts that they resell under their own name. Im running a set of 325mm 4 pots on my valver and although they are better than the original setup, theyre not THAT much...
Plus, what do you think the manifold is going to do for you? I doubt youll see any extra power/torque without proper engine mods as well, ie. head porting and polishing, sharper cams etc, in fact if anything (and Im assuming were talking about one of those fancy 4-1 stainless jobs) itll probably...
I had a full set of Powerflex bushes on my valver. Wore through the metal where it touched the subframe and a b*****d to get them on and off. Id go for the brakes if I were you.
The braiding helps to prevent the hoses from expanding under pressure. So in other words, all your braking pressure from your pedal goes to push the brake pistons in the caliper rather than on swelling up the pipes. Plus you get the extra abrasion resistance of braided, plus they are (or at...
