Just had a looksie. The high pressure hose comes out of the pas pump and runs under the bottom coolant hose, it is attached to the bottom hose by a simple double plastic C clip. the first true mounting is where the rigid pipe is bolted to the front of the gearbox. The simplest way to secure...
Yes they do, albeit a laptop they can read faults on. Usually only for breakdowns at the roadside, they won't just call round your house for a free scan.
Welcome fellow Cup man. Your colour is Mondial Blue, special Cup colour but there are different batches of this colour so youll never get a perfect match. Ebay do have some body parts for sale. Mark Fish is in Harlow and JMS in Uxbridge.
Some people have trouble selecting gears or chattreing gearboxes during fast acceleration and usually the mounts are to blame and worth changing them. If you are not having problems leave them alone.
The standard bearings are £18 from Euro Car Parts and sit between the shock absorber and the rubber mount. they will be adequate for your car. If the rubber mounts are not damaged/split etc. just change the bearings.
The dogbone mount and the upper gearbox ones are the most common to fail. Although the upper gearbox one may be ok but the stud that secures the mount to the gearbox may be loose, well it was on mine. You have to take the mount off and refit the stud tightly then refit the mount.
If you have a/c then I don't know the layout but on non a/c you don't have to remove the guard. The P clip just uses a short stubby self tapping screw to fix it to the shroud. Alternative is to use a cable tie. I'll try to do a photo later.
James there are 2 inlet upgrades.
1 is just the matched inlets top & Bottom with a remap. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?485186-JMS-Ported-Upper-amp-Lower-Inlet-Manifolds.
2 is the RS2 inlet mod. thats the expensive one...
Which PAS line you talking about? If it is the high pressure line from the Pump to the rack then I can only think of one mount which screws onto the plastic fan shroud under the fuel rail guard and supports the flexible part of the line. The other mounts are permanent mounts brazed to the...
This is a normal 172 RS. The "Cup" is the lower model as it has no abs. a/c. traction control which made it lighter.
If you pay a tenner to be a Forum Member, then you'll have access to the whole site and will probably be better equipted to find a decent car. I did and found it worthwhile to...
I bought the next one up from Halfords http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_254057_categoryId_165727_langId_-1?cm_sp=Intelligent_Offer-_-Product_Details_Zone_1-_-Blank&iozone=PDPz1 for £39.95 a few months back but the price has...
Relying on ABS is not good in the snow. You should be slowing down the car by gradually going down through the gears and lightly brushing the brakes so the wheels don't lock up. Why do you think an ABS ring is faulty? sounds like the system is working correclty.
Just change the oil to the correct stuff. The "whine" is probably a Aux/alternator pulley, idler, belt. Not terminal for the engine but will need looking at if it's gets louder.
Leave your thermostat alone, it's the cold weather keeping the gauge half way up, as long as your heater is getting hot then everything is ok. Back in the old days we used to change the thermostat to a winter version so the engine warmed up quicker, but now with modern engines this is not...
I went to Norwich and back on Sunday, a 200mile round trip and no problems apart from the car being filthy. You youngsters really have to retrain yourselves to cope in snow and ice.
If you go down the insurance claim route you may get them to repair it but it will still go down as a claim deemed your fault and your insurance record will not be very healthy. So, fix it yourself and be patient the parts will be found. The only RS specific item is the front bumper, it'll...
They have an inlet thread. £155 the pair collected/exchange. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?485186-JMS-Ported-Upper-amp-Lower-Inlet-Manifolds./page2
It runs the alternator and water pump, so not fatal to the engine like the cambelt. When the weather warms up a bit it should be ok. If it constantly squeals in warmer weather then get the belt changed or adjusted.
