Maybe for yours laine ;) This is a early ktec lpt running a map on standard Ecu, I have had this issue on mine since I did it (very slight in comparision to the op) new plugs/coil pack/leads/injector cleaner/endless mapping and timing check Paul at rstuning put it down to a not very healthy...
Is it the black one from Essex off eBay a while ago? 9psi sounds like a low pressure turbo kit running to much boost, have you tried lowering the boost?
There was one on eBay around a year ago running that sort of power stripped with bucket seats and it was running a charge cooler instead of a intercooler.
You will spend a small fortune on mapping, I spent £800 trying to get mine running 100%, it's done 5k with slight det under load without screwing the engine, if I had aftermarket Ecu then it wouldn't have had this issue, but in answer to your question it's possible yes. Efficient? Not guaranteed.
Should t off the oil filter housing or bolt next to it, check if it has coolant lines running through it, had them break down inside and mix that way on mercs and audis, also if it's auto see if it has a seperate oil cooler or runs through the radiator as the core can fail inside, I wouldn't...
I know where your coming from, when I did the lpt conversion on mine I was stressing all the way to Leeds from Birmingham, and then when it's going for it on the rollers :dead:
All will be fine, looking forward to good figures.
Good luck!
Re: mintys 172 turbo
:p I like it to, how it should be from the factory, it's gdi/piper with a modified tailpipe.
Id imagine you are going for the ktec recessed? Don't bother with the centre silencer.
Well there is one big power Clio in the (long) process of being built and then another that will be pushing the absolute limits, all will be revealed in good time.
