    very cheap 182

lol, not to be used on the road, but pic 2 seems to be on a public road.

    Caliper issue

Right, some goood news, the ABS will now happily kick in :D When changing the fluid yesterday, I did notice a few tiny bubbles, but the main thing was the fluid that came out of the fronts at first looked horrible. It took a canny while to get clean fluid through. I knew this would make a...

    Caliper issue

I assumed it would be like that, but haven't felt it yet. Will try tonight on my way home, will see if the new fluid has helped.

    How embarrassing

Old thread I know, but I am happy someone else had trouble finding the brake fluid reservoir. Took me 10mins :o

Play in my off side front wheel...

Good to hear ATS will do the tracking for free. Is the £39 and £45 for supply only?

    Caliper issue

Pads are the next thing to try, might as well get discs as well. Brembo and Ferdo mix seems to be the most popular, so will probably go for that, unless I can find a big brake setup for sale. After that, it's braided lines.

    Caliper issue

By the 'extra', I mean, can't get the ABS to kick in. I wouldn't normally want to have it kicking in, but when I get a new car, I like to check it works fine (once bought a car with ABS that didn't work and the one previous owner's idea of a 'fix' was to take the bulb out of the dash). Unless...

Play in my off side front wheel...

Last track rod end I bought was £10-£15 (can't fully remember) but it's also a good idea to get the tracking (from about £15 upwards) done afterwards (for obvious reasons), unless the garage does both but then I dunno what labour they'll charge.

    Caliper issue

Anyone? Are my calipers worth 'servicing', or do I get replacement ones (would only be looking for used ones)? Have serviced mitsi calipers in the past to sell on and it has worked fine, but no experience with Renault ones. *EDIT* Just realised I have posted in the wrong section...

    I need everyones advice

If it means you get to keep the car you want to keep then is it not better to just take an extra car on these occasions? Maybe that won't suit you, but suggestion to hopefully let you keep a car you want. We just sort it all out on a 'household' basis, those living in our house come in either...

    I need everyones advice

I have 2 kids (one 4yrs old and one 10mnths old) and we have a Clio and Punto on the road. Both more than adequate of shipping the 'family' around. I considered selling my proton and getting a bigger car more than once, but didn't and ended up with my 172, plenty of airbags etc for piece of...

    Caliper issue

In geneal terms of the brakes, my car are fine, the initial bite is good and stops great under 'normal' braking but when making an attempt to stop quickly there just doesn't seem to be anything 'extra' there. I had a look at them today and all pads have plenty of meat left on them (rears are...

    **Memorial Meet for Northern Will**

I'll try to make it along if that's ok. I'm new so I never met Northern Will, but hopefully a big showing will make it a little more special.

    2 1*2's and a V6 - Consett to Stanley Road (Co Durham)

I saw you (djchewy) heading towards the Jolly Drovers Roundabout at about 6ish. When I saw the car bouncing along I noticed who was driving..............I used to work with you at Kwik Save when it was open. Must be at least 5years ago now though.

I live in Dipton, just along the fellside road then past the hobson from Wickham.

how old are you and what you driving?

    I'm 26 and I drive a 172

    change your cambelts on time

That pic should be included in one of the buyers guides. If people know that can happen, they might be more persistent in getting the belts done before the car is picked up. I told the garage I wouldn't buy the car if they didn't change the belts, or nock at least £500 off.

    Coming back to a clio

Were you on DSC when you had that car?
  24. S

    Clio 182

I paid a little more for my 172, it's on an 04 plate and has 13k less miles though. The Belts were done in with the price and I was given the receipt (£450 trade price for belts) from the garage. My car is May 2004 car and it was 5years and 1month old and had covered 39k miles when the belts...

    Tonaz??

Spotted a canny loud 2004 (I think) 182 coming through Wickham tonight (about 5:15 ish). I was waiting to turn right to go up Wags lane in my m8s Yaris.

    Headlight alignment

My passengers side was wobbly and was making a noise, as if it was constantly adjusting itself when I had the lights on. I just popped it back in and it's been fine. I pushed the bit directly behind the bulb (I left the rubber cap on), I think this is the way fubAr has mentioned. No bumper...

I hardly ever get bothered in the Clio, it's great. I can drive in peace.

    Weekend Car Insurance

I would go for a limited mileage policy. It means you can still tax the car without issue. Never heard of a 'weekend only' (as in the car is insured every weekend) policy myself and as far as I know, you can't tax a car on temp insurance.

    My Clio

There's loads of marks on the paintwork but the car is 5yrs old and has 40k miles on it, so can't really expect much more. I have just added my name to the steering wheel insert list because of this....................
