I'm quite surprised that this thread suddenly popped up again. But hey if we're not allowed to resurrect old posts then why are we given the choice??? Don't think its a problem.
Besides I resent the 'one so sh!t' comment thank you!! lol
I did think about it but my missus was taking the p!ss calling me a car snob anyway hahaha. So didn't get the chance.
I'd imagine he's applied them on the other side too!!
I'm not being funny though, how many people scratch the sill of their cars themselves there???? lol
Surely a set of mud flaps would have worked better to prevent stone chips. :D
Off the line there wouldn't be much in it from my experience. Both cars are bloody quick. Heading up to silly speed the Megane be it a 225 or R26 would start to pull.
In gear acceleration would be different though. The ammount of torque from the 225/R26 means that in most gears, unless the...
I didn't notice him having a false leg or anything. He looked pretty mobile when I saw him getting out of the car.
Think its more a case of another idiot buying a car and clearly knowing nothing about cars!! lol
I think you're missing the point though, they're not supposed to even be stuck there!!!! lol
They are supposed to go where the Renaultsport ones are on my 225 and on my 172. Came as standard, like this example -
Noticed a rather clean Clio 197 pull into Tesco car park in Purley.
Middle aged owner walked off, nothing particularly stange in that. Then I spotted what I thought was some weird graphic or vinyl. Wasn't aware of Renault offerering such a thing.
Had a close look and this genius has...
Good luck with this mate, we all make mistakes with stuff and hopefully you'll get your cash back. Bit silly but we're all human.
An ex of mine did the exact same thing, paid £30 to one of these companies and I knew as soon as she told me that it was a rip off. She never heard a thing since...
2005 (05) Clio 182 - Arctic Blue, 64k, FSH, Both cup packs, 1 owner £7,800
2001 (51) Clio 172 - Mars Red, 54k, FSH, 2 owners £6,400
2004 (54) Meg 225 - Inferno, 3-door, lux pack, 26k 4 owners! £10,500
Just guesses but the Meg has low miles so over £10k should be easy, the 182 has...
Sounds very smart, by the sounds of it they've upped the build quality to the same as the Meganes.
I always thought my 172 was well screwed together anyway unlike what a lot of reports say.
As for the jet wash, as long as you only use the jet wash and not the brushes etc at the garage it...
Thing is mate, the ST does not hit its quote figure!! So I'd imagine any V6 would have it off the line.
As I said the torque is limited in 1st and 2nd gear to prevent the wheels spinning up. You drive a Megane 225 then get in a Focus ST and you'll feel the difference straight away.
The...
From a standing start I think you'd be surprised how well an RS Clio would keep up!!
The ST has torque limiters in 1st and 2nd gear which makes them noticably slower than they should be, and a lot less pull than my Megane 225 off the line.
Also a mate of mine has one and according to one...
You synical little sausage!!
The petrol gauge was the same as well, but then again if its a conspiracy they could have topped that up too haha.
To get my car down to 3.8mpg would require track driving, even with a bit of heavy footedness my car doesn't go below 19mpg.
...about there cars being ragged in a dealership.
I've seen a few people comment in the past that they're worried their cars have been ragged when left at the dealers because the trip computer indicates a really low MPG read out.
Well my Megane 225 went in yesterday for a service and when...
Well pleased with myself and my missus for getting the heating sorted in my Clio!!
Went and spoke with my local garage who said that a lot of the time with old Renaults, the heater matrix rusts and ends up getting blocked.
So I was advised to take the expansion tank off and basically...
I used to have respect for them, until one sat on my rear bumper (of my 172) so when he was along side me I put the window down and asked him what his issue was.
He proceeded to tell me to 'buy a proper car' and then nailed it off and dangerously cut the driver in front of me up on a round...
Cheers for the advice guys, to be honest I'm gonna pop down my local garage who tend to do little jobs like that for the price of the parts.
If they've got a thermostat I'll give that a try.
Oh joy!!!! I really don't wanna spend out on it at the moment considering I'm looking to chop it in, in the new year.
Car cost me £600, clutch £300 and steering column £300. Can't justify however much it'd cost to replace the heater matrix.
Ar$e and indeed bugger! lol
Since buying my 1993 Clio RT I noticed that the heating was taking an age to warm up.
Even after 20 minutes it still wasn't warming up much and the water temp gauge didn't move much.
Well now, its not warming up at all. I did a two hour drive the other day and the blowers were only pushing...
Cheers for all the info guys, I think I'm pretty clued up now as to what to look out for.
Looks like I'll aiming for the 80bhp or 100bhp versions. Gotta sort my cash flow out in the new year and then star looking. They're not the most common cars out there.
Its all about the cost of fuel!!
I'm now driving 240 miles every other weekend and I used to be able to do that kind of drive (120 miles each way) on about £8 worth of petrol if I took it easy in my Clio 1.2.
Now I'm driving in a 1.4 and its costing me about £14 for 120 miles. Can't...
Haha that is a good point mate. But here's my reasons -
1 - It'll rape my wallet in fuel
2 - I'm not racking the miles up on it, keeping it mint (ie 3k miles in nearly two years)
3 - I don't like parking it any old place
4 - I'd rather rag an old sh!tter round coz then you don't worry...
Excellent mate, that sounds good to me. I'll aim for the 80bhp version where possible.
I've just found that driving my 1.4 Clio RT down to see the new missus isn't that easy. The fuel consumption isn't that good and also I've found myself dropping down into 4th if I'm at 60ish on the motorway...
I'm not too phased about them performance wise as its more for practicality and saving some money on fuel and tax.
What about ones with over 60-70k on the clock.
Do the turbos need replacing after a certain mileage?
What engines do they do?? I wasn't sure what the bhp figures were, I...
Any owners with the Clio DCIs got any positive/negative feedback???
I'm looking to get rid of my 1993 Clio RT in the new year as I'm now doing 240 miles every other weekend and not only is it not very practical for the drive its also not that economical!!
So I'm thinking of going for...
