Like any car, its only unsafe if you plough into a tree.
Tell her to stop being so clueless, its no more unsafe than any other Clio. Whether thats a good thing I'm not sure though haha
By white I mean it shows up as white on the racing blue but its basically just the lacquer flaking along the very edge.
I just wondered if there's a way of re-lacquering rather than completely respraying the panel and applying that again.
We'll get it down the dealers as soon as then. :D
Sounds good mate, will do!
I could understand them refusing if the panel was scratched or chipped but its spotless.
As mentioned though, anyone know if the panel needs totally repainting?
The missus and I were detailing her 182 Cup when she spotted that the lacquer on the passenger side, front arch appears to be bubbles slightly.
Not really badly, but you can see that on the edge by the bonnet, it looks slightly white and runs most of the way along that endge.
Its still...
Megane 225 in any form be it full fat, Cup or Trophy. Re-map it and you've got 265bhp for £400.
You'll get a mint one for £11-13k, if you get a full fat just get a set of springs for it and by all accounts it won't be far off the 225 Cup handling wise. :D
Well it looks just like the interior of the Meganes so if its anything like my 225 it should be better!! :D
Then again my 172 never had any rattles so I couldn't fault the Clios that much.
I love black and white wheels. But to be honest I'd go for white. My missus has on her 182 and it looks wicked. They need cleaning at least once a week to stay looking good though.
Not everyone's thing but I like em. Got em on my 225 -
Silver lights on silver cars only, black on black cars looks good though. I know a lot of people hate aftermarket lights but I don't see the problem with em.
ASBO orange is the only colour I would have it in.
But having test driven one as my mate was buying, its not as fast as it should be. Apparently its got torque limiters in 1st/2nd gear which holds it back.
Getting back in my Megane 225 hammered home that I'd made the right choice haha.
I think they are very nice motors.
Something a little bit different, love the 3 door versions and as you say, pretty rare cars.
I like it that the designers have put their necks out a bit to design something a bit different. Parly why I like the Meganes, gives it some character...
Well we did have three but she dropped one so that went in the bin haha.
Wasn't really sure how much to use but a whole bar each meant it was eary to hold onto!! lol Besides they can be reused so no big deal. :D
Definitely a worthwhile job. Strange thing is the clay didn't make it look better initially but made the pain feel extra smooth.
It was the polish/wax that brough up the glossy shine though. :D
Cheers guys, the missus will be most proud haha as she worked bloody hard on getting it looking this good too.
The wheels are a bit marmite, some people love em, other hate em haha. Can't deny that the white/racing blue combo works well though!!
Not on my Meg but me and the missus 182.
She'd been going on about claying her coz of bits of tar etc on the bodywork, so on Friday we set about with two bars.
Step 1 - Wash
Step 2 - Clay the entire car
Step 3 - Wash Again
Step 4 - Meguiars Polish
Step 5 - Meguiars Carnuba Wax...
Lets be honest, you've gotta be pretty sad if you let things like that really bother you.
Yeah, if its 2am on a Sunday night and you're sat there revving your engine up, rightly so someone should tell you to sh!t off.
But otherwise who cares, we all have to live round each other so just...
I'll get some proper stripes when it comes back with the wheels 100%. The jobs been rushed so we're dropping it back down to the place so they do it as well as they did with my Megane alloys.
Would be nice lowered and with a splitter. One step at a time though haha.
I'm not sure on the whole pink wipers thing. But if you got a set of nice multispoke rims in pink, did just the badges, in a girly way it would kinda work.
But wipers, bad!! haha.
The missus wheels were slightly damaged anyway so needed to be refurbished at some point, but she wanted something different.
As I said, in my opinion anthracite goes with silver, black, red etc. But racing blue with gordini stripes just doesn't suit anthracite. White stripes, white wheels...
Exactly what I said to my gf. I said white would be the best colour to match the gordini stripes and worse case is that she gets em done in anthracite again.
Still cheaper than a brand new set of rims.
£240 to refurb a set of rims.
Or £400-500 a set for a brand new set of wheels??? Besides, everyone goes for Turini style rims so at least these are a bit different.
182 wheels aren't exactly inspiring but I've never thought that anthracite coloured wheels suited racing blue anyway...
For some reason it never came with a front splitter. The missus bought it with 6,500 miles on it so its likely it never had one from the dealership.
As for the colour coding, someone caught the front passenger side of the bumper in a car park so whilst it was repaired the washer jet caps...
Yeah the dirt will show on em but provided they get regularly cleaned, at least they're not too fussy so not hard to clean they'll still look good cleaned up.
Besides £240 is much cheaper than a whole set of rims.
Just need to get it photographed alonside my Megane.
