It should come on at about 6750ish like you said. If the engine is still cold, the light comes on earlier, at about 6250 - because the rev limiter itself is lower if the engine isn't warm enough.

True, it's bloomin' poop! I've never driven a mk2, but the mk1 suspension is a bit springy? Bounce all over the place. Going to get some Eibachs as soon as I can afford them, should sort it out. But yes, the mk1 looks better :D Down to personal opinion mind.

A lot less yes. Hardly see any mk1s about, plenty of mk2s though. Then again, they're been in production for longer so it is expected

Yes the ST produces it's 32 less bhp at a whopping 500rpm lower in the rev range. Plus if you look at the power-to-weight of the two cars, 168/ton vs. 132/ton. Nice

I get this too, a lot more people let me out and wave me in etc than in my old car (also a fiesta).... maybe it's just an anti-fiesta thing :D I also get loads of people in modded car waving at me or flashing at me, even though my car is 100% standard. Crazy

Either the VTS has the shortest 5th gear I've ever seen or thats a load of nonsense. At 60 you'd have to drop to 3rd to get the same pull in a clio than the VTS gets in 5th. Riiigghhtt. Forgot those VTS's had so much low down torque :p

How is that "f**king perfect"?? Surely perfect would be free :D When I renew in a months time, my 172 is going to cost me £650 to insure for the year, and thats too much money! :( And dont worry about killing yourself, 2.0ls arent that fast. Certainly dont justify the insurance group! :cry:

When it reads 0.0. Push the button. Itll then start flashing --GO--. So you go! :D Will flash up your 0-60 time when you hit 60 yes. Will keep timing (timing for a 1/4 mile). You can either continue onwards or if you slow down a bit, itll know youre not going for the 1/4 and show you the 0-60...

4,500 rpm in 5th = 100mph. 5,500 and 6,250 = Dont want to try that on a public road with cops and cameras about mk1 172 btw
