If you're going to lower yourself to the poverty spec of the cups, go for the 172 cup. As IMO the 182 cup is rather pointless - it's just a regular 182 with a really crap interior and a lower spec with a mere 20kg weight saving which no one will notice.
The 182 cup's downfall is the fact...
When I drive over a bump in the road, I occasionally hear this very bizarre noise.
Roughly once every 5 bumps or so I drive over, instead of the usual quiet, dull 'bump' noise you get it makes this noise instead. I can only describe this noise as the sound plates (plates which you eat your...
Trading in, you'll only get £4k-£4.5k tops imo (Renault valued my ph1 for trade-in which has the same milage as yours but is a year older at £3.5k!). You'll get over a grand more if you sold it privately though.
I rev mine to 2k max whilst it's cold, tis horrid if I have to go straight onto a national speed limit road :dapprove:
Once warm - it gets hell :approve:
I think in 2000 the clio got revamped (in terms of safety) and went from a 2 star to a 4 star NCAP rating.
So ph1 172s are just as safe (according to NCAP (4 stars)) as the phase 2s.
You'll have to estimate how heavy your car is first.
Then:
BHP divided by car weight (in KG) = 'X'
Then multipy this 'x' figure by 1000.
This is your bhp/ton.
If Plattsy's theories (which completely ignore convensional physics) were true, you could gear a 1.2 clio to do 10,000mph and, if given enough road, the little clio could eventually hit this 'gear-limited' 10,000mph ;)
I can't see him winning a Noble prize anytime soon :)
Official kerb weight is 1035kg. In reality it's probably a bit heavier than that. All cars (when weighed at a weighing station) seem to be heavier than their claimed kerb weights.
For example, a friend of mine with a fiesta zetec s got his car weighed, Ford claim 976kg, but his car actually...
Because it has 100bhp more power!
Well i'm not going to call you a "c**k", because that's just childish, but you are talking out of your arse and know nothing about this particular subject. POWER is what limits a car's top speed, not gearing. When the force produced by power is matched by...
I've never understood the need to put aftermarket valve caps on a car. Just keep the standard black plastic ones on there, then nobody will try and nick them (hopefully).
If you put parts on your clio from a different spec of clio, you still need to declare them to insurance yeah.
They aren't factory standard and I suppose they are classed as aftermarket.
I think they look quite good actually. Seeing one next to an older shape clio really makes the older clio look dated.
I've only had a fairly short test drive in one but I really liked it a lot, quality was leagues ahead of the previous clio, as was how it drove, seating position, steering...
I'm assuming a 24k service is the same as a 48k service (both minor)? I paid £90 for mine :approve: £289 is mad! That's more than I paid to have my cambelt changed!
You can't afford a faster car... but you can afford to spend £££ on mods which you'll never get your money back for, and can then afford to declare these mods?
