found out what the problem was. bloody alpine manuals are shyte!!!! thought the ipod interface was considered a 'ai-net external processer' which according to the manaual meant a switch on the bottom was to be put in the eq/div side when in fact it aint a processer so needs to be in the normal...

lol impossible to do that cause it is a different type of connection, eveverything works but the output is massivly (no exaggeration) higher than cd and tuner, and no change in volume when going from 0 to max on hu.

nah the interface connects to the data port, think of it like connecting your comp to ipod and playing through itunes

that shouldnt affect it though, do you think the ipod interface is faulty? anyone else use the alpine ipod interface?

but im using the interface so how can i change the volume on the ipod, starting to make sense, how can i lower the output from the ipod?

its the alpine ipod interface though, so other than volume on head unit i have no control. and amps arent in protection mode, gains are not up full

...is going on here? ive got an alpine 9855r and 4speakers and sub and two amps. when its on my ipod i get NO bass, and the speakers are soo load even when volume is on 0 on hu BUT when i flip to my cd, theres good bass but the speakers are pretty quiet so im having to play with...

Ive got the 9855 and have 2 amps a sub an front and rear speakers. the amps are on the sub and fronts, and rears off hu. so does 3WAY mode mean i can run the rears off the hu on all channels and increase the power going to these? how do i enable this?

has anyone got the 9855 in a mk1 clio? prob too late now, as got is sitting right behind me, going to fit it tomorrow. the face is awful angled though and with the cage in the mk1s being at 45' not sure if itl sit right, guess will just have to find out.

i was told so but in my mk1 when i switch it on, it makes a funny sound, like something fizzing or melting ?!? lol dont use it anymore tho, too scared to.

halfords do have some decent stuff, just 20x more expensive than online. i went up their to have a look at some of the hu's (never ever was going to buy one from there) and had a play with the alpines that have the glide touch and liked it so much went and bought an alpine 9855R of net. cant...

an iso to clio adaptor as nowhere seems to have the iso to wires one. Cheers J
