The adaptor was wired incorectly which reversed the polarity of the power going to the stereo. Basicaly adaptor was connecting black to black and red to red at the interface with the car then crossing this over to red to black and black to red at the stereo!!! I read on the forum somewhere that you must conect the speakers to the wires the correct way round or they will sound guff! How do I know what the correct way round is there is nothing marked on the speakers other than one contact is large the other is small. To make matters worse the wires...

Just fitted some pioner fronts and infinity kapa rears. Still have the OEM head unit but wow what a difference. Cant wait till I cna afford a new head unit 2. Get rid of the sh*t factory speakers if you havent done so!!!
