I recently test drove a 172 with a Ktec fitted ITB kit and 421 cams and to say it was a disappointment would be an understatement, if you're going to track the car I could see it MAYBE a worthwhile thing, but me personally, on the road I found the car extremely underwhelming for a 204bhp clio...
NO.
How a Cup should look....
Front splitter, though many have them missing now and it should have these wheels.
Also look out for the headlight washer blanks and it should have Cup 172 badges in silver and yellow on the door(B pillar).

DON'T sell the wheel for £40, you can achieve far more than that, I'd say £80 all day long mate.
Just depends how quickly you want to shift the stuff really, but I'd say £170 - £200 for interior and definitely £80 for the steering wheel.
It's deemed a form of finance I suppose, I totally agree though.
The additional it adds is very high, I remember when it would only add a small amount to your policy overall when making instalments, now it's like 50 - 60% on top .
Bimarco Futura, with Renault Sport stitching. These are immaculate, not a single blemish - pics below, sorry they're not great:o.
Yes this is fitted with a poly dogbone kit, £25 + P&P.
This car is currently still complete and most parts won't be available for posting/collection until Fri/Sat...
I had a similar experience, we lived in a little village out in Thatcham, Newbury and was paying £240 fully comp on an astra 2l sport, had to move back to my parents in Hillingdon for a while and it went up to £550!
Needless to say, I took the car off the road and ended up breaking it for...
Got a few bits on eBay, will be adding more over the next few days. Got a 172 Cup for breaking with buckets, etc.

The only thing going for this clio is the colour.
At that price and with the damage it's sustained, (which will undoubtedly turn out to be more once you start pulling it apart) it's a dog unfortunately.
WOW... Just had a look through the write up in that link and the work that's involved is madness, who ever does that for a living and does it to a high standard like shown on the BMW, must have the patience of a saint. The colour wouldn't be my first choice, but the finish and quality looks amazing.
Fair enough, that doesn't seem too bad.
What do cost would be involved with installing a wrap, then removing it, say on the BMW pictured? And also, what's the life span, thought it was only a few years?
Yeah, I wasn't too sure. Just thought I'd ask, seeing as it looks like a lot of time has to go into wrapping a car, naturally you'd expect it might take the same to remove it.
How long do you think it would take to remove then?
Your comment above, surely it works out more expensive than a full respray in the end, if you're suggesting it's eventually removed having preserved the original paint, wouldn't you have to pay the same again (minus the vinyl costs) just for removal?
And is removal the same as installation, does...
Anyone got the service schedule for the above, it's currently on 82,000 miles and covers approximately 20K + a year and want to see if the belts are due now, as the service light has come on - I don't trust the dealers, had different suggestions from 3 dealership on what exactly was needed/due...
Not really an option, I don't have to insure this car, I'm just looking at keeping this 172 I bought instead of breaking it and thought(hoped) I may be able to get it for a reasonable price considering the value.
I have a company van and don't really need a car, but it seems a shame to let my...
You're at the nicer end of the SL postcodes... If that's possible;).
It does seem odd how that works, but this was the reason for me breaking my last 172, couldn't justify the insurance costs.
I love the look of these, I just don't know why Renault didn't opt for a simple RS/F1 emblem or badge, something more subtle than those ghastly decals along the sides and on the bumpers. Lovely car though and great in that colour.
I think what's really p1ssing me off is, I've had various other quotes via confused.com for an 07 Audi TT 2ltr & 3.2 and a TVR Cerbera 4.2, both were between £750 - £900 fully comp! Seems really odd that an £800 172 either TPFT or FC has the same premium as one of the above.
I'll def' be trying...
I've spoken to Adrian Flux and they weren't any better than my last policy at £700 with Admiral, saying they couldn't really match on unmodified. Been told my occupation doesn't help, I drive a van and for some reason, rather than praise for my extensive hours of driving everyday, I get...
I've just had a quote on confused.com and I'm getting results of around £700+ to insure an unmodified £800 Ph1 172 and as a 30yr old male, with 6yrs NCB, doing less than 2000 miles per year and for social/domestic use only, that's mental!
WTF is that all about, why on earth is insurance SO high...
As said above, wheels look a little big but, I totally see what you're aiming for. 15'' or 16'' BBS rep's with a bit of tyre stretch and a big drop will look very nice, avoid using the term ''Euro'' though, people seem to jump all over it and basically sl*g you off if your plans don't include...
It's good to see that this one lives on, I came down to see this a while back and nearly bought it... Would have been pulled apart and $tripped though, if I'd got my hands on it .
Good luck with everything, it's a cracking little car with an awesome spec and I can't wait to see the final...
I would have thought investment wise there would be no point and you'd be best off with some sort of savings/shares but, if you can afford to keep it and more importantly, want to keep it then you're not going to loose anything.
